RE: "Too bad the people that rioted in the Summer of 2020 won't face the same consequences."
One of those criminals (a guy who committed arson) got 9 years. None of Trump's rioters has received a sentence that stiff . . . yet.
RE: "The idiots that stormed the Capital inconvenienced government officials,"
Officials who were trying to certify the results of a democratically held election to choose the leadership of the United States. It wasn't like they were just missing lunch.
RE: "...who btw have private security and all make a nice 6 figures."
Sure looked like they could've used some more security that day. Mitt Romney came frighteningly close to walking right into some of those trespassers who were howling for Pelosi and Mike Pence. I don't think 6 figures quite covers having your life endangered by a marauding mob who thought he'd betrayed their beloved leader.
RE: "The people who rioted in 2020 burned down small businesses, attacked random innocent people, burned down police stations in various states, took over parts of Seattle, put up road blocks blocking ambulances from helping people, attacked fire fighters trying to do their jobs, looted stores, etc etc etc. You tell me who the real threat is."
The January 6th rioters built a gallows outside a government building, beat police with flag poles, tossed barricades at them, sprayed officers in the face with bear repellent, hit, tasered and even went for the gun of a cop they were dragging down a staircase, they continued to try and force their way through an entrance even as a young officer they'd pinned by the shoulder in the doorway screamed in pain....and all this culminating in the assault of over one hundred police officers and security personnel who were also just trying to do their jobs. It would be fascinating to hear why it is you don't think the January 6th rioters represented a "real threat."
