I think it's less about not caring about victims and more about protecting criminals. It's backwards!!

It's amazing how at least 6 people in the comment section supposedly know someone with ABS, yet there are less than 100 cases worldwide, most being in Japan.
5
@willdiesel8431 I'm not sure what your referring to. Are you asking if she was attempting to deescalate the situation by lying?
5
@misscecity Harsh? He's 3. They don't think like we do.
4
@privatedonut2914 And that also isn't true. There are very few police shootings. It's just popular to pretend there are.
4
@adimeter There was a lot of footage cut out. I've seen the extended version where it shows that the officers were very kind and gentle to her. I think they're trained not to touch victims in this type of situation.
4
@Stevo.100 I was referring to when they went up and got him out safely. We don't know when the guy shot himself.
4
@lifeofxyco7633 He had an alcohol level of .32.
4
@sij809 This might come as a surprise, but everyone is different. When considering cases like this, there are a lot of variables to consider: age of abuse, length of abuse, depth of abuse, type of abuse, personality, if there was a trusted adult or friend to turn to, etc. We aren't robots. Everyone has a threshold.
4
@kommisar. 💯
4
@Vale0x3 I've never heard it put quite like that before. Very interesting and astute. No matter how much alcohol I consumed, I would never treat anyone that way - flipping them off, making demands of her friend, etc. Some people might think that sounds holier than thou, but I honestly don't mean it that way. I'm just recognizing that what you said makes a lot of sense. Her true colors were revealed, which is why I don't have a lot of sympathy for her.
4
@kommisar. I'm not sure why so many people are insisting that she was somehow a victim. It's very strange. You are thinking it through rationally.
4
Not only that, but the utter disrespect to everyone around her, including her own friend. I'm going to guess that she's the type to lean on others, but not the other way around.
4
@snow4summer515 Huh?
3
There is plenty of support available. There are so many free programs for parents in need - free medical, free food, free baby essentials... All drug treatment centers give mothers all necessary supplies and connect them with local programs to make sure they're set. Some people really shouldn't have children.
3
@Adelicows I said they were getting in the way. Maybe you missed the part where they were repeatedly asked to back away, but kept coming back, which only escalated the situation. Yes, that hindered the investigation because the guy was opening up about his sick desires. So let's say the father had killed the guy with his bare hands. Then he'd be in prison. Police are there to make sure legal protocol is followed. That's the best way of ensuring an arrest and conviction. The last thing they'd want is for the wrong man to go to jail.
3
Cops behave like this in about 99% of the arrest videos I've seen.
3
@gregjegstrup1024 You might want to reread niki's comment. She said whoever voted this administration into office is continuing to promote that. She did not say that the current president was the cause. There's no way anyone can honestly deny that this administration condones criminal behavior and does not support personal responsibility.
3
@lorireed8046 I'm really surprised to see so many people defending this woman. Yes, she lied about drinking. There was no reason to think that her drink was drugged. The cameras showed her drinking a lot. Crying for her deceased mother is not pointing toward past trauma. She sure looked extremely relaxed when she continually flipped off the EMT who was helping her.

It's easy to jump to conclusions due to confirmation bias. One case Isn't a representation of what usually happens. Plus, each state, department, etc. are different. Charges get dropped pretty often. Sometimes the parent ends up in classes or something similar.
2
@Earth2ash311 Like that was so less abusive, right? 🙄
2
@LittleKikuyu Exactly true. The rare "bad" cops are the ones that the public tends to focus on. Then they jump to the conclusion that they're all the same.
2
I don't quite understand your comment. Would you mind explaining why you mentioned the bond? The mother drove with her daughter in the car knowing she had a cocktail of drugs in her system.
2
There's no rehabilitation with people like this.
2
@RoolyToo 💯
2
@LilLadyAy Right? I noticed that, too.

I find it very odd that so many people believe he has dementia just by watching one video. He's a severe alcoholic who absolutely did not care about those children on the bus. He was told to pull over, but he refused. He dropped a few kids off before his supervisor showed up to tell him to get off the bus. His BAC was 4 times the legal limit. Why would anyone think that's dementia?? He even showed up plastered in court! He's probably been an alcoholic for many years.

Taylor: He pushed me! Translation: Taylor repeatedly attacked Dakota and he attempted to distance himself from her. Taylor: He didn't like me going out with my girls. Translation: They are both addicts and had an agreement about avoiding alcohol. He went to pick her up from the party because she was toasted! Taylor: But, I'm a girl. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
2
@SimonC82686 RIGHT?! Some of these comments are insane. He even showed up to court plastered. He's a severe alcoholic. End of.
2
1. He's 3, so it doesn't mean much that "He knows not to go in the woods." 2. Three years old is too young to be outside alone in that type of area. 3. Her lack of reaction when the officer told her that Kayden was found was weird. She just had to continue telling her story about another child. What?? 4. After the 20 minute video, we didn't even get to see the mother and son reunite. That moment was cut out. Why???
2
It's interesting and telling how both the husband and step son defended her. Messed up situation, that's for sure.
1
What?!!! At what point? AFTER she was shot, her babies kidnapped, and she almost died??
1
@charliehofmann3524 Well, or brings in money that is used to live on. She was evidently able to buy that big house.
1
This is horrifying. Those poor babies. 😢
1
It's interesting how she was trying to pose as a 7th grader with winged eyeliner and false eyelashes. She also didn't change her speech. School staff: Good morning. How are you? Casey: Fine, and yourself?
1
@nunyabiznis3595 I'm not sure what your point is here. That goes without saying. Although that's a very popular thing to say, there are far fewer cops that know about the corruption than people want to believe.
1
@westboroughbaptistchurch5136 She needs help and a massive dose of humility.
1
Well, you're normal. None of those employees had any morals.
1
@KaiLucasZachary Day care is big money. Why would you assume otherwise? It's strange that you think that she'd "have" to rent the second house out. Hello! She's greedy and deranged.
1
Shout out to all of the celebrities who raised their kids with respect, rules, and humility. Evidently, Michael Jordan is not one of them. The irony of him claiming racism is beyond. 🙄
1
Uber is cheap and can save lives.
1
@ThrockmortonJGildersleeve He was very kind the entire time, but you happened to point out the one single sentence...
1
@erinshaw6266 Where did you get the info that the suspect was not lying?
1
It's just not worth the risk. No doubt the grandfather is in agony knowing he tried to prevent this from happening, but for some reason, mom was being stubborn. This is heartbreaking because it was totally preventable. 💔 Hats off to the first responders, who gave their all and showed their genuine concern for them.
1
@Norah Elaine I wonder if he did. I can only imagine the anguish. 💔
1
She is a disgusting person. Not only did her sister die 100% due to her intoxication, but she didn't even change afterwards!! 💔
1
Well, it was named "the baths". It's kind of a trashy town, though.
1
Yet the grandmother was horrified.
1
They seemed more relieved, honestly.
