  4. agreed. i don't do drugs, never have. but I'm also a Libertarian and believe it's a person's choice what to put in their bodies. And evidence shows that decriminalizing and legalizing drugs eliminates more of the issue that anything we've done so far since they started the War on Drugs.

This simply isn't how reality works. Worth looking at is the Hawks and Doves studies. They prove that crime can never be eliminated, only minimized. accidents cannot be eliminated, only minimized. inequality cannot be eliminated, only minimized. Nature (physics? call it what you like) simply does not allow imbalance to exist.

  24.  @Foolish188  You are right, but the tragedy of the Commons is also about land/property ownership. In the case of fishing, the gov steps in to ensure the fish aren't over-harvested. This is a good example where some amount of gov is appropriate. You can't just go hunting on anyone's land, and you can't just go hunt anything you want any time you want (with some exceptions). Just teaching someone to fish doesn't mean everyone will fish them to extinction. The water and fishing is still regulated. Teaching people to fish is separate from the tragedy of the commons anywhere fishing is regulated, so you're also wrong.

These fact checkers are not even qualified to peer review the things they do. And they aren't just peer reviewing them, but actually censoring things. And their fact checks are usually filed with lies, logical inconsistencies, logical fallacies, etc. A non doctor fact checking a doctor, is not peer review, as the fact checker is not the doctor's "peer" on the subject matter.

  29.  @f-86zoomer37  A free market cannot exist without laws and regulation. This is why laws about anti-trust, conspiracy, monopolies, price gouging and more exists. Capitalism Requires regulation in order to exist, otherwise we end up with the corporatist economic system we currently have where the rich keep buying up everything and controlling the markets and buying politicians to do their bidding. If you support this, then by all means, keep advocating for zero regulation. But telephone, internet, sewage etc are utilities. Social media sites like Youtube, Twitter, facebook, etc, registered themselves as Platforms, not Publishers. So they need to follow the rules accordingly, or be held accountable for breaking them. But it seems you don't believe in the rule of law, and you think people should just be allowed to do as they please without consequences, like loot, arson, murder, steal, assault others, etc.

  31. when super rich investment firms are buying up ALL land and ALL homes in your area, and NO ONE else can afford to buy land, that is not good. And since they are paying above market value, our taxes are going up, and eventually none of us will be able to afford to keep our homes/land. Capitalism also requires gov to intervene to prevent monopolies, price manipulation, cartels, and other such anti-competitive behavior.

  34.  @joeyGalileoHotto  yup. I got out of school just as no child left behind was first being rolled out, and it still managed to affect me (top student in my school). And witnessed the bad effects ever since at the college level. The greatest damage is always from the best of intentions. They think they are helping, but in reality they are making it worse. These people don't understand how reality works and so their "solutions" are always the exact opposite of what the real solutions are.
