@dvdmcd - You ignore reality. Did you not see the Russian battle plan fail, including landing paratroops to seize the airport outside of Kiev? Those Russians were liquidated. So, either that was not an intentional outcome in Putin's plan, or you are saying Putin just intentionally gets his best troops killed for no purpose. He was clearly trying to quickly strike directly at Kiev. However, Putin's generals did not manage the logistics well. They also didn't plan on the fields near Kiev being flooded. Try reading informative news sources rather than Russian propaganda. You will learn about reality.

Yes, but it was a lie. Oil and arms merchants controlled the Bush administration. They knew they were lying and just didn't care. That most of the people didn't really care enough to consider if it was a lie - they loved feeling the jingoism - is a huge stain on the history of my country. In the end, though, all of humanity is deeply flawed where it counts. We collectively get what no more than we deserve: wars and destruction.

The West is not claiming these are magic platforms. A tank can be destroyed by artillery round, missiles, or mines. They know that. However, when they are probably managed as a resource to attack forces with inadequate countermeasures, they can be effective, lethal, and hard to kill.

People were detained after creating a ruckus and waving a flag with Putin's face on it. That is not a national flag and they were not detained for that reason. The flag with Putin, due to his face, was transformed into a political movement flag. No point in interrupting a tournament with screams for a political party kingpin.

@jamesmorrow1646 One difference is that possession is 90% of ownership. Israel has had control of the West Bank and Gaza strip for most of a century. Palestine was never even a country. The realpolitik of the Middle East troubles is different than the Russian occupation of their neighbors like Ukraine and Georgia.

@rdsc.455 - That is basically true. And it does not change the tragically complex and painful reality that exists now. If humanity refused to forgive and forget all prior sins that happened many decades ago or more, the world would be at war every day everywhere. That is not an acceptable approach. I do think Israel needs to lock up their violent settlers and throw away the key. However, it doesn't mean it is anywhere realistic to expect either that or giving back all of Israel to the Palestinians. If only Arafat had accepted the imperfect but workable two-state plan that his whole body of advisors had thought was acceptable. 😞

@wolfswinkel8906 - OMG, the irony you don't see. Russia propped up the dictator Ghaddafi. Russia supports the dictatorship in Syria. Russia INVADED Afghanistan. Do you really want to play this game? Russia built a fence around all of Eastern Europe to keep people from fleeing their takeover and then renamed their countries as "Soviet". Those people spent decades under Soviet rule. Don't even think you have a "winning" point to make for Russia.

@ahmedmusa9821 - You know f*ck all about history. Russians have always terribly treated those who lack power. Their own Soviet government killed tens of millions through starvation and pogroms. Their Gulag of prisons was world famous and still is famous for its brutality. (The US has an absolutely record of number of prisoners, but not so bad for the treatment compared to Russia.) Russia entrapped Eastern Europe and even put up impenetrable borders to keep its own citizens from fleeing. How many countries have done that in the whole history of the world? So stop pretending the history of Russia versus others is not horrible.

@josephdurso5894 - No language is more well known than Hebrew in Israel. Russian might be spoken by many despite that , but the majority are not busy speaking it.
