  8. You are lucky to have been born in the twentieth century and living in the twenty-first. If you would have lived any earlier, you would have probably died of a now-preventable disease. Yes, being as self-sufficient as that person in that video has its advantages, but the twenty first century offers luxuries that never existed before.

  10.  @no_peace  I think that the reason that some people criticise this type of life is because they would not know what to do with themselves if they had to live it. In other words, they would get bored with it. I agree that boredom is a factor which needs to be taken into account, but once you know how to fill your time, you could have a lovely, peaceful existence there.
