It's just nice to see a car that doesn't start at 40k.

I wasn't expecting that "engine bay". Genuinely hilarious
188
Seriously seems like the nicest, most put together Lotus. Sucks that they're not gonna expand off of it for future cars.
81
It revving an extra 3k more than my brain anticipates never gets old
80
The sideways cones help visibility/readability a ton, at least for me since I'm colorblind
62
Seems like such a cool good car... that's like 20k too expensive. Really sucks :/
47
I absolutely wasn't expecting that front, even after reading the comments
40
Spinning a fan speed dial and changing tracks with a button press doesn't require you to take your eyes off the road to begin with. Everything being in the screen does. Immediately the Golf loses hard on that and there's no arguing against it.

@crow_2k11beatsbydre8 I mean yeah GM's kinda bleh, but not rich people need shit too and cheap cars don't need to be peak luxury or anything.
18
It's clearly 2000s, but definitely looks more late than early (ignoring the changes in Honda's design language). It's totally timeless in the sense it'll never look bad due to being outdated, though
16
Counterpoint, CBR 1000 RR-R SB
15
Didn't expect the door and start-up beeps to be the same as my 2004 Civic
15
8:57 love the sun highlighting the ":D"
14
I can't understand how people like it, regardless of what car it's in. It's so ugly, an ultrawide monitor wedged across 2/3 of the car
14
Best title change I've seen
13
Unless something drastic has happened, they'll be fine. US is a very distant secondary market for them; they're very popular as a high luxury brand in China.
12
2:50 the trees and fog and wet is absolutely gorgeous
12
I don't think it's *bad*, hell of a lot better than the buck teeth at least, but it's, hm. Very funky and reads femme which I wouldn't expect
11
Think you meant to type "5'6 dudes with 3" and a chip on their shoulder for highway commutes"
11
3:24 love how much all of this pisses you off, genuinely. Like barely anyone complains about the screens anymore
11
Nature, famously rockless
10
Sound is very interesting. Quite distinct from a lot of 4 cylinders, I think.
10
Funny when on his channel he has Emily for that role
9
He's completely open, just not something that comes up in the average vid, but I'm fully aware this comment isn't in good faith
9
Just internally screaming at the commenters whining about not enough screens. I can't comprehend the person who looks at this and wants it to be like every other modern car
9
Nah it's aging well while being more than modern enough
9
Hard agree, love Passenger!Topher giggling when Driver!Topher does something stupid, it adds a lot
8
Audio seems funky?
8
He was an instructor at a track for a while, so not really a surprise
8
I'm way too much of a baby about dirt, just looking at everything and the interior is bothering me so much
8
Is pretty sick to me as a lover of dark purple. Makes me think of Hellraisin.
8
I honestly like the outdated interior. Plenty of buttons :)
7
...why make the glovebox like that?
7
I fully know the routes and roads not part of the standard routes used by Tedward and the Tophers. Happens when you've been watching for years
7
@NextGenAcela I'm knowingly overstating it a bit. But, for the income of my household (which isn't awful), we can only afford maybe a 30k, maybe 35k, car and there's really not much in that range. Some crossovers and sedans, sure, but not as much variety as there used to be in the historic equivalent price range (like 20k in the 2000s).
6
I really think a lot of people buy the name, not the car
6
The ending trying to find the fuel economy was hilarious
6
Yeah I can't comprehend it. I know my household doesn't make much because low cost of living area but still, like one 30k or 35k car is the max we could afford.
6
Almost like it's not a truck built for towing, wild
6
My mother's getting a small crossover for her next car purely due to back issues (she'd stick with a sedan otherwise), and the height that adds would make it easier to get in. So that's a reason. Also for big families, but they have the option of minivans too. Either way, there are valid reasons for wanting/needing them, even I think very few buyers actually have any reason for it.
6
Hey the one other person who hates that shit :D
5
They're just friends/coworkers
5
It seems excessive/unnecessary given how average drivers have gotten increasingly worse despite the tech.
5
@taylorb7191 oh no whatever will i do I don't have Apple anything and I have no interest in using Android Auto
5
Good thing it's not 500k, then
5
They're always so cozy
5
And AMG. And M.
5
200k is absolutely rich/wealthy, at least to me and in my state
5
I really do love that spoiler. Does so much for the look of the car
4
@bige7186 I'm too autistic about cars and I know design language through the decades way too well, but it is a good looking little car. I could maybe see it in Mazda's or Lexus's current lineup with a few changes and a few more lines. Really just needs a facelift, which is pretty good for a 25 year old car :)
