Pretty confident the other guy is wrong. Unless I'm misremembering they're just coworkers/friends
2
Haptics are literally just cheaper. Less R&D, less design cost, less expensive to make. Same reason going to screens for everything. Just plug and play plus software
2
It sounds so bad
2
If I recall other Topher had said it was actually comfortable on long drives, it's just the getting in/out that's not great
2
I'm surprised every time I see a GMC SUV; I constantly forget they exist because I just never see them. The Terrain name isn't familiar to me in the slightest, even.
2
The engine sounds so bad
2
I can't not think of Katy Perry and I'd really prefer not to think of her
2
Don't forget the base trim, Platinum Sport Premium Plus Ultra
2
Civic :)
2
Especially since now he knows X part is new and will last
2
I really gotta wonder what 3D shit looks like to normal people beyond just being slightly wiggly and blurry. I'll never know, just like I'll never know what red is actually like :/
2
Seeing the quality this is in makes it clear why people are blown away by my mother's '03 Civic. Similar year, materials, and miles to this yet look perfectly new, and this is seemingly in decent quality. Have no idea how you can wear a car this much, honestly (like the knobs and steering wheel).
2
That course looks so hard to see, but I know it's probably clear to most people. Protanopia sucks.
2
I recognize they're glowing beacons to most, but those cones are so hard to see for me. At least the course is clearly dug out for the most part.
2
That's kinda my thought. Like it's all regular maintenance and/or something you'll never need to fix again
2
The racism in these comments is rough
2
And that makes it ten times nicer than a 2020s interior with a 32 in flatscreen and no buttons :)

19:40 😏

Yeah it's frustrating. People shouldn't be talking about it like it's a new gen GT when they're so divorced from each other.
1
Why would they label it like that?
1
Guess I'm just kinda confused. Feels super random and I don't see the appeal
1
The sounds of the doors and hood is honestly hilarious. Sounds so plastic and sad and cheap
1
I mean, there's cars half this price that get at least as much fizz from reviewers
1
@ Absolutely not, I've never been in a car that cost more than like 45k new and I highly doubt I ever will given I'm broadly poor and don't know any rich people. Just saying that there's American V8 fun, like the Blackwing or a Dodge monstrosity of choice, that's far cheaper and, while not as "perfectly balanced" or whatever as this, gets just as much enjoyment factor from people in vids.
1
@taforth Truly I'm sure they're great on track and track-like roads like in the video, just it's not something that would ever be on my mind even ignoring price (especially with how Porsche has skyrocketed to what used to be Bentley and Lamborghini prices not too long ago). Since I'm in the South, we don't really have roads like that at all, nor tracks locally beyond some dirt ovals, so a car that's great in a turn really doesn't appeal to me personally at all as even hypothetically if I had it I'd get no use out of it. I'm sure that's had some effect on my preference towards muscle, since you don't need a good twisty road to have fun with them. But yeah, including the price there's just no way I'd ever even consider a Porsche if I had the money, there's too much that would give me at least as much enjoyment at half or even far less of the price, then I could use the remainder to buy a house straight up in cash while I'm at it. And this is why I'll never be the target market for these even without being several tax brackets below the types who can afford them :)
1
Don't remember if the transmission these have is it but Lamborghini until very recently always used single clutch transmissions which are slower than dual clutch (which most other fast stuff used)

Different people both named Chris. TopherDrives is Substitute Topher, who will sometimes be the POV here but more often will be passenger (like in this video) on this channel. Sub Topher's channel also has developed a different focus, more long distance/road trip videos often with his gf Emily.

Anyone who buys it is a a rich mark, or a mark who wants to look rich, so I can't feel too much sympathy.
1
Definitely recommend checking out the shit Mozilla ran about car companies
1
@ it's absolutely not, but when a base work spec Tacoma is 45k, it's is comparatively. Cars aren't affordable at all anymore, period. Civics are pushing 30 now, it's insane.
1
Benefits of an old car :)

Utilitarian vehicles are always very neat

@anthonyp4385 Yeah he cut it out :)
1
Hey now, bunch of companies are doing rectangles again too /s
1
By sheer coincidence just watched a video over it
1
I had noticed the bass and was trying to figure out if it really was just the engine :D
1
Do any Miatas come not as a convertible? Past or present
1
Bit of a shame but probably good for costs
1
Genuinely bothered you drove it and made a vid :/
1
Striped yellow means passing using the oncoming lane is allowed and if it's solid on one side but other is stripes like just before that, stripe can pass but solid can't. Continuing that rule, both being solid means no crossing it. And he blurs the speed to reduce legal issues and it might be used as evidence should anything happen.
1
He's just 5'10
1
The interior colors and surfaces remind me a lot of my 21 year old Civic, it's kinda hilarious
1
It makes brutalism look maximalist
1
based (I dislike trucks and Ford)
1
@ I've watched too many POV car videos. Comes up with Hellcats as that's what they used (particularly like when giving someone a joyride). Was at M1 Concourse, if I recall.
1
It feels like these sorts of interiors, with the screen UI designs and lights everywhere and fake noises, are made to target teens or something. That and to look wacky and crazy on camera. I don't get it at all, honestly, like they're made not for the people who could buy them or those who historically would. Mercedes has done the same thing, maybe slightly less gaming PC. Just, wild. Can't picture whatever mid 50s doctor liking this direction.
