Russia actually has to conquer and control a country of 38 million people that has the support of the entire world besides the pariahs russia is buying cut rate munitions from. Russia started the war for no reason and is wasting an entire generation of men while failing to accomplish its strategic goals. The only reason they had any success this past year is because of the russian assets in the US house of representatives holding up aid to Ukraine, thus starving the Ukrainians of ammunition and replacement parts. That situation has changed and things are getting harder for russia as that aid gets to Ukrainian troops.
