One would expect that someone's told Putin that if he can invite other nations into the fray, so can Ukraine. Which wouldn't go well for Russia.
1
Ukraine did not sink the Russian warship. A lit cigarette accidentally touched off the ship's enormous reserves of vodka, and now the ship is operating in submarine mode.
1
@socomply5963 Also funny every time the Russians try to claim it's A-OK for them to attack another country, but when they get attacked back it's soooo evil, right?
1
Russia checks off some boxes .. a) regime that's repressive to its own people .. b) doesn't have democracy .. c) has some oil and other resources.
1
Putin is re-enacting Hannibal salting Carthage. One way or the other, Putin's going to be gone in a few years. Yet he is choosing a permanent solution to a temporary problem (his ego).
1
@mike89128 Some Germans settled there too back in the 1800s, which is where part of my family came from.
1
Russia is led right now by a guy who won't even use a computer. Large swaths of the country still look like WW2 was fought just 3 years ago. And next it's all going to get a lot worse.
1
Let's not forget that Rostov was historically Ukrainian land long before those smelly upstart Muskovites stole it. Its return to Ukraine should be part of the reparations that Moscow will be forced pay.

If you want $5B for the border wall, just ask Trump why he gave $2T per year in tax cuts to the richest. Betcha you didn't complain about that.
1
@JoeyBaby47 I'm against US states making foreign policy on their own, which is what those zeroes in Arizona did by obscuring the border. Oh, and since you seem to lack the situational awareness to understand WHY people come from south of the border, let me add this: If you want to keep people inside a burning building, you need a border wall sort of like the one that used to be in Berlin and along the DDR's borders with the west, and even that didn't succeed in keeping people in a shitty place.
1
@JoeyBaby47 Inflation is running high in every country now, even all the ones that Biden isn't in charge of. But we can't expect you to be aware of things that everyone knows, can we.
1
@JoeyBaby47 Once again you demonstrate your lack of understanding. Try building a fence to keep people in a burning building (or in a really horrible, shitty situation) and see why that approach doesn't work. Fix the shitty situation south of the border and you'll fix the migration problem.
1
@JoeyBaby47 Y'know, your whole asinine attitude towards people south of the border should make you ask why the western nations didn't collectively demonize the poor wretches who were trying to flee communism and seek better lives in the west. Thankfully better minds prevailed, and we didn't have your kind of lower life form bitching that those folks fleeing communism were here to steal our jobs or speak different languages or offend us by having slightly different skin tones.
1
@AstroGremlinAmerican You still can't explain why the West didn't demonize the people fleeing communism. Surely some of them spoke with accents or took jobs away from people already in the west. Again, I'm glad people like you aren't in charge of anything important. Your lack of compassion for other people fleeing danger is indicative of psychopathic tendencies. You might want to get that checked out.
1
@JoeyBaby47 You don't need me to read the news to you. Go read it yourself. Most of the people fleeing places south of the border are fleeing a lot worse than the communist refuseniks who kept climbing over the Berlin wall.
1
@JoeyBaby47 If your only "search" is on FOXed Noise, you won't find much. Apparently you can't find anything except that which feeds the same confirmation bias that so blinds you. If ignorance is bliss, you must be the Buddha buddy 😀
1
@JoeyBaby47 The fact that every nation on earth is experiencing the same inflation (because, out of necessity, they all did similar things during the pandemic) seems not to have penetrated your thick head. No matter. I got drum magazines full of sh for the dumbest people that flop up on my beach.
1
@JoeyBaby47 Communists did pretty bad things to people living behind the Iron Curtain (including limiting their ability to save up to buy a car) and we welcomed them, even though they probably took the jobs that xenophobes imagined were "theirs". People fleeing here from south of the border are escaping much worse than that.
1
This is why America and the west need to send precision long-range missiles to Ukraine. Especially cruise missiles with range over 300km. Send the nazi invaders to the hot place.
1
@kukulroukul4698 Wrong. If Russians overthrew Sputin and left Ukraine ASAP they would be welcome back to the world community. Sanctions would go away overnight.
1
Putin is a lot like those fools that are made fun of with that old saying about how some people can make a small fortune only by starting with a large fortune. It is the same way with Putin and Russia. Russia is going to be a lot less, in the future, thanks to the invasion of Ukraine. He's not a businessman. A smarter leader would realize that sacrificing hard-to-replace million-dollar combat vehicles to thousand-dollar missiles/drones is a losing game.
1
Zelinskyy will be famous for what he said - "I don't need a ride out, I need ammo!" They will be naming high schools after him for the next century. Talk about rising to the occasion. He's giving Putin a harsh lesson in how you do it.
1
@limyrob1383 Brutal and ugly. Look up the Russian childrens game, "blind cat". Almost all their games are like that. Funny how the people of almost every ex-Soviet possession don't want to ever be under the Russian boot again. Big thanks to Putin for being the best salesman NATO ever had.
1
Or just give Russia a taste of its own medicine. Use a wave of missiles to destroy every bit of infrastructure 50km deep into their territory. They need their face rubbed in it.
1
OP - Ukraine will be rebuilt to modern western standards after this. A plan has already been worked out. Russia, however, will remain the land of outhouses and dirt roads, and it will look like the war was fought only last month.
1
Translation: Putler is running low on prisoners available for conscription. A year from now he'll finally get to rounding up teenagers off the streets of Moscow & St. Pete, if their economy isn't TU by then.
1
@markscott5975 And it is clear already that there is no way Putin emerges from this looking good. There is no win for Russia in this. Russia will have less money, fewer friends, sparser demographics, fewer allies, a much smaller military, etc by the time this is over.
