@OneTrueScotsman Yes, but only if NI first votes to break from UK.
6
@Happy_Shopper The only losers will be EU producers - we can produce our own or buy from other countries.
6
The problem is since 1970s Labour and Tories have served the EU and UK people's lives have got worse. The only way to change this deceit is vote for the party that puts the UK people first.
6
@gdwnet In the 1975 UK referendum the 'No' campaign warned in a leaflet 'the price of butter in the UK will be almost doubled by 1978 if we stay in'. It claimed the EEC, through the Common Agricultural Policy, forced Britain to buy food from other member states and banned the import of cheap butter from New Zealand. Actually, the price of butter in the UK quadrupled by 1978.
6
Remaining in the Single Market and Customs Union is not leaving the European Union... The United Kingdom electorate voted to leave the European Union.
6
Pro EU MPs should stand down as their vision for the country has been rejected.
6
Actually. they were called 'remainers' - then when Leave won, those that would not accept the vote were called 'remoaners' - then when the UK left the EU - those that would not accept it are called 'silly twats'.
6
I used to like him in Michael Bentine's Potty Time.
6
I would like to apologise on behalf of the British people for Kay Burley.
6
So the advisers have to take the blame, because Mrs May is a good robot.
5
There's not a jot of evidence to suggest the people of the UK ever wanted to be part of a united states of Europe... Not a jot.
5
Leave voters anticipated a rocky road out of the EU, but are confident it's the right road to a better place.
5
28 countries and 3million non UK citizens have come here for jobs and 1million UK citizens have gone there to retire and spend their UK pensions... Big of the EU to agree to allow that situation to continue.
5
After Kier eventually steps down for throwing stones in his greenhouse, Ed will be the ideal replacement for keeping pro-EU twits out of Downing Street.
5
"If that guy thought glitter could make me shine - he doesn't know me"
5
Sky News is about as trustworthy as the 'Block Brexit Campaign' (BBC)
5
Nonsense. All that is required is for the shellfish to be processed (depurated) and the EU will accept imports. It's just a matter of a little investment and some more UK jobs which I'm sure the UK government will provide, oh, and some compensation for the fisherman too.
5
I don't think the Labour Party quite get how many Labour voters they are alienating by opposing Brexit. Millions of Labour voters voted for Brexit and have had two years of well-off Labour politicians telling them they are second class citizens whose opinions should be ignored... These ordinary patriots are now seeing Eton educated toffs as brothers in arms.
5
The Ukraine Army was not 'better' in the beginning - it was given lots of very effective weapons that a chimpanzee could use.
5
Strange how during the referendum we were told 'no loss of sovereignty' - Where's the 27 EU country's sovereignty right now?
5
In 2016 52% voted for common sense against Tory, Labour, Lib Dem - the same can happen again.
5
He looks like he uses the same food bank as Eric Pickle.
4
So it's OK have a debate on the NHS as long as we don't mention sick people accessing treatment.
4
Cleary this is how Labour MPs talk to each other when they think decent people won't hear them.
4
Nonsense. All that is required is for the shellfish to be processed (depurated) and the EU will accept imports. It's just a matter of a little investment and some more UK jobs which I'm sure the UK government will provide, oh, and some compensation for the fisherman too.
4
@garybarrett4881 If not for the Leave votes from Scotland and Northern Ireland - Remain would have won.
4
They don't want by-elections because, 'the people have had enough of voting' - so they're campaigning for a 'people's vote' instead.
4
He's good at talking nonsense to simple people. He begins by saying 3 bridges are down so Russia cannot get troops in and then says there are no Russian troops in so Russia must be short of troops.
4
I liked the '17 miles of lorry congestion' - where they get that figure from? Perhaps it was 'scientifically' calculated to be '17.4 miles' and they rounded it down in favour of Brexit voters.
4
It looks like the EU and Starmer are out of the picture - caused enough mayhem.
4
I shouldn't be surprised if they give her tactical vote campaign a party political broadcast.
4
It's not a matter of 'switching sides' it's about recognising there are sides and doing what's best for those sides and everyone affected. There is no evidence Russia intends to advance further than the areas where the people have voted to be with Russia. So, the idea WW3 is justified because some Russian people voted for independence from Ukraine and were crushed, is madness.
4
Drain the swamp - vote Reform!
4
Half of Remain votes were influenced by Project Fear and Project Fear is bollocks.
4
People who are paid (like Andrew Marr) £400K a year with perks to 'inform' people are not deluded - it's the people that believe them who are deluded...
4
How are they standing up for democracy when the people of the disputed areas have voted to be with Russia?
4
Half or Remain votes were because of Project Fear and Project Fear is bollocks.
4
She didn't say anything about Northern Ireland other than what everybody already knows. If any UK government believes it likely the people of NI would vote to separate from the UK there will be a referendum. This is not going to happen unless it looks highly probable.
4
OK let's assume we have a second IN/OUT vote - who's going to head up the IN camp? - Cable? Clegg? Blair? Major? Soubry? Clarke? Geldof? Umuna?... Everyone else has since endorsed Leave. 70% of MPs want to stop Brexit - if they believed the country had changed its mind we would be having a second IN/OUT vote for that very reason.
4
Sky is reporting today that a 'hundred thousand' marched for a 'people's vote'. So, what exactly is the evidence for this? An average 12 year old could work out from the aerial images that the actual figure is well under ten thousand.
4
Erika Yasu's comment translated: "The government, the media, and the people of the urban areas at the time were against leaving. However, the referendum showed the will to leave. Certainly Britain is a trap of a democratic nation. Prime Minister May's proposed agreement with the EU is that the UK will continue to pay 5.5 billion yen each year to the EU. The British Parliament should not insult the people, but should respond to the people's request for "British national resurgence." "
4
The propaganda around no-deal is not working. No-deal fulfils the independence and new beginning the electorate voted for. It looks as though pro EU MPs are conniving to impede this mandate to keep open the possibility of rejoining down the road.
4
'fascism' is a twentieth century concept. 'Islam is an ancient religion. To conflate the two is perverse and smells of trickery. 'Cameron was wrong to criticise Corbyn' - 'I come to bury Caesar not to praise him'.....Sure!
3
When Cameron was leader of the opposition he debated Gordon Brown at PM'sQs which didn't prevent him demanding TV debates with Gordon Brown. He's clearly afraid of Ed Miliband.
3
+Matthew Mitchell Students have never asked for free university education. Students have asked for university education to be paid for by taxation.
3
I think that's very likely anyway - and they know it. I expect some with marginal seats will defect to Lib Dems - if they think they can keep their jobs that way.
3
We did not have VAT before the EU imposed it on us as a condition of joining.
3
Why does the media never mention the people of the disputed territory voted to be part of Russia?
3
This has nothing to do with Brexit! If Cameron had won the referendum and was given a birthday cake - exactly the same thing would have happened - it's about 'justice'...
3
Nonsense. All that is required is for the shellfish to be processed (depurated) and the EU will accept imports. It's just a matter of a little investment and some more UK jobs which I'm sure the UK government will provide, oh, and some compensation for the fisherman too.
