  1. Who has a democracy? Surely not the US. For Arabs who complain they sure love to move out of their messed up countries and come to the West though. This is a sad story. Our leaders are failing us ... but it has little to do with democracy ... probably more to do with the last of it, and the lack of representation of the people all over the world.

  4. This guy's idea that Hu was led out because of a health concern is pretty absurd. Hi health is probably in danger when he gets out of sight of the cameras. You can bet though this something like this would give Donald Trump a real stiffie to be able to do that. Very weird, and even weirder was this guy's reporting on it. I bet he is reporting from inside China and wanted to be sure to get out again.

One reason so many Ukrainians are dying - they are sending their untrained men to the front. This sound like total propaganda. The Palestinians made their own bed for generations now ... they have no democracy, they have very few rights, if they do something their thug government doesn't like, like talk about making peace with Israel, they get beat up or dragged through the city behind a truck as an example for any other religious or political apostates. You know nothing about the Palestinians ... but then again, how could you. Israel is open to the world and has many global newspapers and organizations, Palestinian leadership is hidden and opaque so we never are exposed to how corrupt it is.

  40. All Ukraine would have had to do would have been to give up Crimea - which has only belonged to Ukraine since the 1950s - less than a century - and it is critical to Russia's security. I don't know what Trump said, and I disagree with him on everything, but on that - he may have a point.

  42. In California you have to give people 3 months notice if you are going to lay them off. Usually that means companies "fire" them and pretend to be generous by giving them a few months severance ... but that is only true beause of REGULATION and worker protections ... the little that we have in California, and almost nothing in the rest of the country.
