We can accept the people here ... so, what do you want to do ... repeat the same thing every 20 years with a new 10 million undocumented people? When is Mexico going to get its shit together ... AND, if they want to move people back and forth, then the laws and rights ought to be equal too. I could move to Mexico if it was safe enough and I could buy property or do business without getting shaken down for bribes.

  7. I gotta admit ... I want all that too ... but, I and a hell of a lot of other Americans want to know when the endless hordes of Mexicans is going to end? If we are going to do all this free health care, and free education how can we afford it if millions of Mexicans are still hopping the border and taking the places of Americans? I don't think the US should have a "slave" class or use undocumented people as slaves so they cannot complain ... but this flow of endless people into the country has got to end or be managed at some point ... right ?

  9. I got the impression that before Larry David found out he was related to Bernie Sanders that he was not very impressed with Bernie and didn't seem to like him. Now ... I wonder if that has changed? I saw that PBS show where they found out they were related ... what a shock, but they must have had some clue in order to do both of them at the same time? It's good to see Bernie relaxes and laughing ... maybe his cousin can help him with that? ;-)

  10. I'd like to hear these two explain how they perceive what is happening in Gaza? I don't think they understand things like how Hamas got billions of dollars in aid, some from the UN through UNRWA - a permanent siphon of money from UN member countries to Hamas who instead of investing in Gaza and building things like power plants and water purification systems took that money, gave it to Hamas leaders who do not even live in Gaza, and bought weapons and build tunnels and planned TRUE genocidal attacks on Israelis - not just Jews. I see no evidence that these two acknowledge this, and in fact are supporting Hamas because many of their supporters are just as awful as the Nazi/KKK supporters of Donald Trump - and that their failure to stand up to the extreme Left is a real problem for their own agenda.

  13. WHY NOT DEVELOP THE BEGINNING OF A LIVING WAGE POLICY INDEXED TO THE LOCAL COST OF LIVING ? Instead of opening the Progressive movement to criticism, why don't you talk about the cost of living in certain areas of open the discussion to economists and others who might have ideas how to index local minimum wages to the local cost of living so Bernie's and the Progressives' national minimum wage policy would not be vulnerable to political attacks from the right as being bad for business . Here in the Bay Area of California even a $15 minimum wage is still basically slow death instead of anything remotely like a Living Wage* . In other economically depressed areas $15 could actually support a person and a child.

  16. This is not as simple as it sounds, or Bernie makes it sound. Look at our current political situation and tell me that democracy works, or, if there are problems with democracy our national policy should be to let the chip fall where they may and election goons like Donald Trump. There are a lot of very stupid and manipulatable Americans, and there are a lot of very very evil and smart people who can analyze American society and with social media better than ever target and amass mobs of very ugly and dangerous, stupid or selfish people who care nothing for the whole country any more than Donald Trump. There is something to be said for the fact that very rich people have a higher stake in America and though they own and control the means of production they are not a danger to the whole country's survival. We need a far better analysis that Bernie is capable of doing, and much as I love Bernie's dream and voted for him in our current system I am not sure the absolute changes he is talking about here will make things better and more than what we have now is. What we need is perhaps regulation on campaigning and lobbying. I also think a maximum limit on income and wealth would be a good idea. In any case the subject demands are much deeper conversation about this than Bernie can offer.

I want him to win the Presidency, I sent him money and worked for him, but I wish there was a way for him to either stay out of this -impossible, or to find a way to appreciate the act of terminating Suleimani without condoning Trump's way of thinking. Obviously this was a ploy to distract from impeachment, and it was a dangerous act ... but we have had this impasse with Iran for 40 years ... when are we going to say that all other avenues to work with Iran were exhausted and we are tired to taking the terrorist hits from Suleimani and his terrorist militias all around the region? The Democrats really come off bad when they knee jerkingly condemn the result of this kill. I want anyone but a Republican to win this election, but all the Democrats come off as so spineless it makes me want to scream!

Talking about how much destitute minorities want Medicare for all may be true, and it may more than be justified, but I am not sure that does not send a twinge down a lot of people's spines to be reminded of ... even if they even do support it. It brings to mind the fact that at least at first resources will be scarce for some number of people while the system scales up and expands. It makes sense to forego simplistic sound-bytes and that focus on a full-plan that re-assures all that health care will get substantially better for all of us! 2. We don't really need to see close-ups of Bernie and Jane kissing. It's an irrelevant meme that somehow got started a long time ago and has mindlessly been kept alive by the media that does nothing and says nothing. I'm sure they love each other and are happy they are doing well, that doesn't mean they need to go at it on camera does it?

  28. There is one way I think Bernie is being stubborn and kind of stupid. That is, I can appreciate what he means by Democratic Socialist, it's fine with me, BUT, that term will have a lot of baggage with a lot of other people and be an attack point by Trump. The only reason Trump can use it as a point of attack is that the meaning of Democratic Socialist, or Social Democrats, or Socialist is something that has been eroded in America since the 50's. A phrase that does mean something to all Americans and is easy to reference and understand is FDR Democrat. I think Bernie should not run away from his embrace of Democratic Socialism, but he should incorporate the branding of FDR Democrat more - simply to be clearly and have something to point to when the inevitable attacks come.

I was so glad that he ran and angry that he was kicked out of the Democratic Party, but even then I thought he is not serious - though he was doing a good job bringing his ideas to the public. For example, why, if he was serious, did he not just join the Democrats, and stop calling himself a Socialist? That was a campaign killer right there. He would have won if he had done that and called himself an FDR Democrat, but he seemed determined to lose. Now he seems determined to associate Socialism, Democratic Socialism with Palestinians and terrorism. I cannot support him at this point, and his speeches against Netanyahu and Israel, and his own Jewish faith disgust me. Bernie, you are a fake and I repudiate you as a Democrat, as a Progressives, as a Liberal, as a civilized tolerant human being.
