The so-called "Establishment" needs us to think we have a democracy, and that there is some kind of fair fight that is somehow always won by the right-wing. Well, there is not a two party system in the US any longer. Since FDR, the arch-enemy of the Right, all the money, power and focus of the Right has gone into playing dirty tricks on Americans, just like they play dirty tricks in Iran, Greece, Italy, El Salvador, Nicaragua, etc to trick the public into accepting a virtual Right-Wing dictatorship. And they won, and have never let up.
Money and success are a weapon. Tax avoidance and financial corruption is a weapon, and it is being used to kill Americans and break up our government and society and to try to implement this absurd fake society, with fake news, and no social contract, no New Deal, nothing, just a virtual slave state for the people on the bottom while the people at the top just keep getting bigger and more powerful and in control of more and more media and wealth.

Why do people have to agree with everything other people say in order to be accepted?
In general I believe a Liberal/Progressive/Socialist/Capitalist/Environmentalist/Western agenda.
Things will be going along great, and then the Middle East comes up as a topic and I have to get slammed as not being a Liberal/Progressive because I think the problem here is of course nuanced, but mostly the problem that the Islamic culture cannot coexist peacefully and tolerantly with any other culture, unless it has dominance over then. I also do think the the problem with the banks is that we are not on the gold standard, or that we have fiat currency.
I think that puts me almost exactly coincident with the Bernie Sanders agenda.
I think a big problem, and the reason we end up following the money agenda is that the issue agenda fragments people who do not really get the idea of civilization or prioritizing or tolerance. There are tons of very stupid and anti-social people both sides that cannot be part of a team, and cannot have a rational discussion about much of anything. These people are so socially isolated that they, in Chomsky's words need to be regimented and distracted like a child or an old person with dementia, and that is what we end up having.
The rest of us who might like to have a more cooperative society, and work in more cooperative groups end up the prisoners of these large groups of people that the establishment has developed herding technology to use against us, and we through no fault of our own are disenfranchised and forced to live under the corporate military junta - with no way to fit in because they have enough people to sustain themselves and do not want to argue or be regulated by people of "minimal or no substance or connection" to the existing system - which they see no problem with.

I am close to your age and probably of your general generation and I resonate with that remark. I am totally unhappy with the retrograde trajectory the US is on, and I think it started oddly enough I mark it at about the the same the show Family Ties came out in the 70's to counter the Liberal shows. That was when the media figured out how to, and full out started to manipulate the population with all kinds of trickery. It was also when the music scene began to turn from love and peace to ugliness and rap and criminality.
I never thought that the year 2000 which I had always looked forward to as a new better age would actually be a blast back to the past.
Like Hillary, Biden would be better than Trump or any Republican, but he would still be inching backwards in momentum. The thing that stuck out for me in the 2008 election when Biden was running, and why I semi-supported him at that time was his idea to split Iraq into Kurd, Sunni and Shia sectors. I thought that would have worked at the time. Little did I realize the overall plan was the just mess up the anthill of the middle east and let the ants fight it out and destroy their status quo.
Anyway, what takes priority for me these days is America. Not in a Trumpian way, but a reinvestment and reinvigoration of the public sector. To do that I think we cannot destroy or threaten the military junta, but we as citizens must demand our rights and build ourselves up first, before we can do anything else.

Of "we" Lefties, "you" Lefties are messed up on this Israel thing.
First, Rashida Tlaib, who I otherwise really like, has no business injecting
the Palestinian propaganda. This is almost my whole problem with the Left
which on most other issues I am in agreement - the Israel thing is something
artificial, it is something corrupt, it has been purchased as associative whitewashing.
The Palestinians are about the farthest things from a Leftie there can be. In WWII
they sided with genocidal fascists, and that mentality has not left them since.
There are about 100 Islamic terror attacks on Israel every year, but the only time
we ever hear anything on our media ... our Right-wing media, is there one of these
stupid Left-wing representatives decides to be used by the media to throw negativity
on the cause of the Left.
Furthermore, it would be one thing if the Arab-Israel thing had a solution but the only
solution we understand from radical Islam is their way or no way at all - eternal war.
How does Israel fight and eternal war against crazed poverty stricken brainwashed
Palestinian people who have no say in their government because the source of their
money is external and dependent on how we'll they screw over Israel.
