  5. I'm interested in veganism and have read about it, and moved towards more plant-based foods in my life. The problem I think is that most vegans are motivated by feelings - and there is good and bad to that. If a way that you are eating makes you feel better, that is a compelling reason to continue eating that way and looking for markers in your individual experience to explain that and sort it out to make it better. The problem is that sometimes feelings lead us astray, like the proverbial lucky T-shirt of a person playing a sport. What we feel can sometimes turn out to be magical thinking, and certain magical thoughts can be common to people, moving into all areas of life. I think there are lots of various questions to answer about how we eat, and we don't really have a lot of data on it, and people often lie as well. In the end we are all experiments in our own lives, and uncontrolled experiments at that. I feel that processed foods are a big problem. Junk foods are another. Pesticides and herbicides are another. The way animal products are made is another. GMO foods is another. In general stay away from processed foods, junk foods, addictive foods ... all the stuff that people design with technology to manipulate people. Eat as natural as possible - and that is hard to do these days because we have gotten ourselves dependent on this toxic addictive food system full of chemicals, and then lies about it in the media, and we see everyone eating it, but we do not really see the disease and death from it. Today everything is sort of half together with lies. From food, to politics, we are lied to for the profit and power of others that we never see. We are just seen as marks from other people in our society that should be our fellow citizens, but our system really has us all at war with each other - and we think that is normal.
