  2. But the question is - what does he think about today 2021? Muller said at the time he had validated global warming, but no climate change? He said the climate was not changing ... which I think he did not have the data to say at the time, but what about today? In the Western US there are fires all over the place and record heat temperatures throughout the northwest that have been rising the past few years. Why is Muller so quiet? I think it is because he knows we have hit a discontinuity, where perhaps a certain critical mass of ice has melted and now the heat that would have melted more ice is not concentrating in the environment because there is no other place for it to go. Mostly in the Northern Hemisphere, but also bringing in the Southern Hemisphere too. I hope when this is understood all the people who with no proof denied climate change get their just desserts.

  5. BS, he did exactly that and global warming tracks ONLY with CO2 emissions. No other signal is significant.

  6. Powell, is just trying to get attention. Maybe he is jealous of Muller. First, science is not perfect, and has been wrong quite a few times - it always makes sense to be skeptical and aware of possible systemic or institutional bias. Second, it was not just Muller, it was a lot of scientists in his area that were skeptical. Third, they were not just skeptical or non-believers, there were specific facts that they had problems with. Muller and a number of other good physicists and scientists cooperated on looking at the numbers to see if there was a problem with them over time and because of the growth of cities and general chances in the environment. They tested it is, and they validated what other scientists had come up with. That is how science should work. I am sick of scientists who want to turn science into a religion that can never be questioned.

  7. We sure are not getting our money's worth in terms of our military "investment", we are not helping the world become more civilized, in fact could be argued the opposite. We have been picking on small countries and trying to develop the power to change a country, but so far no dice, ... maybe Iraq. I agree, South America has huge potential, I hope that their democratic movements are able to continue and mature! That's huge! True, the US is behaving hypocritically. So, what's you point?

  8. Why is it the black guy that talks about drugs? With dreadlocks even? ;-) The answer is people are getting high using drugs and costing us lots of money, and lots of money is going to criminals - that cannot work, ergo - we need a different tactic on drugs, I think people should be able to use drugs. Let's let people feel good. I think many studies prove that when people are not controlled and do what they want they eventually move on instead of getting stuck butting heads with authority.

  10. I don't think this has mostly to do with people's beliefs. Most people want to live in peace and respect, and they see the rightness and sense in "the golden rule". But our higher ups work out ways of herding people, or programming them, of presenting limited alternatives to them that they have to go against their basic natures to survive. Like the soldiers who talk about how they have to be habituated to violence and brainwashed to kill. Look at our media over the last 40 years and how it is almost all violence, death, torture, crime ... this has very little to do with anything we believe. Whole religions ( excluding Islam ) tell people the ideal of coexisting with other people ... but those religions are corrupted by money just like our government has been now. It winds up tighter and tighter until something breaks and we have war and insanity. People need a nurturing safe environment to be human - and that is more about environment than it is about our free will to choose how we want to live. The world has been forced into war, and we've been shown sports and competition as a way to model lower level war, but very few people but the winners are OK with that ... and I don't really know if the winners are truly happy or joyful. Does Donald Trump or his cadres look happy? They look relieved because they have a way to take their misery out on someone else to make them more miserable, and that is their winning calculus.

  11. No, actually there was noise and poor data management in those other scientists. And as Muller says, scientists should never operate on trust, they should be skeptical. Muller makes the distinction of a "proper skeptic" who is led by reason and data, and a - my words - mindless denier skeptic who has dishonest or non-objective motivations to deny global warming. Also, not only did Muller show that the Earth was warming, but that it is caused solely by human activity ... that is, the data tracked exactly with human CO2 generation, and NOT with another cause such as sun spots or solar cycles or volcano activity. The curious thing though is that he seemed to say that global warming was true, but that climate change was not? Now, that was back 15 years or so, so I wonder what his position on that is now? Oh, I see I commented on this video 2 years ago. Oh well! ;-)
