The word "your" is a determiner as in "This is YOUR cat." The word you should have used in it's place is "you're" which is a contraction of "you are." OK - You are very confident in your (or you're) position. Here's what we will do. We will both put up £1000 or the $ equivalent thereof to a trusted third party like the Church of England. We then get secular & non secular experts in the respect fields covered to look at the evidence presented in the bible & by science to ascertain, on the preponderance of evidence, which side has the most validity & provable FACT behind it. I have contacts in academia both theists & non theist who can assist in this. The loser then forfeits their ante to charities in Africa who help homosexual people who have been terribly burnt & mutilated in the name of your god for the "sin" of having a different sexual orientation. Any refusal to do this will indicate an INSTANT acceptance that the refusing side was palpably wrong & an appropriate apology then issued. How does that sound? I will keep posting this reply on a daily basis should you not reply thereby indicating that you are talking shit & running scared!

  24. Antonio Padro I think the one thing we can both do Antonio is to try & live responsible & decent lives & try & do right by others & the planet as a whole. If I was a theist I would figure that god had given me the capacity of an enquiring mind for a reason so researching what I believe or may need to learn would not be a sin. Sometimes giving up a faith can be akin to stopping smoking - If your are of a certain age & disposition you are probably better off not doing it. I can understand that a lot of people can have a lot more invested in it that just stopping believing in a diety, there can be family ties & a social network so I wouldn't be as presumptions as to say it would be for you.   26. Antonio Padro I'll give you credit for staying with it. I usually have a saying that "when the questions get tough the thiests get going!" You stuck with it & presented your case well though. One thing I have learnt is to never be certain of anything in life so my situation would be not that I don't accept the possibility of there being a god but just that the evidence presented to me up until now is such that I couldn't believe there is one & maintain my intellectual & quizical integrity. I respect you may come at it from the opposite way round. Not that I'm saying this with any intention of trying to de convert you or alter your belief in anyway but if you get a chance to try to watch the Austin Atheist Experience it really is a good show. Try to make sure you get the ones with Matt Dillahunty comparing as he really is a hoot! They get into some deep theological and philosophical discussions but sometimes you do get some nutcases phone up included one guy who wanted to.... "Come up there and punch Matt's face in for Jesus"!

  30.  @antoniopadro1760  I don't know what happened before the Big Bang Antonio, no one ++ AT THE MOMENT ++ does but just plugging one of many gods in the gap does not answer any of those questions. I do PROVABLY, to within a .05% acuarcy, know the age of the Earth taken, from MANY independent sources & can, even just based on DNA evidence alone, tell you that we acesended from apes & share a common ancestor with all living things. The £1000 bet is still there if you want to PROVE otherwise. As you say, we're about done. My 4G is very patchy & I've got to get pick some cockles & samphire for a barbie tonight. You have to understand the time scales involved here. Taking you literal biblical view of the world being 6700 years old it wouldn't have happened but over BILLIONS of years things do happen. Scientist have created life from inert non living matter so the mechanics of life coming about without a god are known. Ask yourself this though - Why would a god who revels in flora & fauna create TRILLIONS upon TRILLIONS of pieces of useless sterile rock to float around the universe? Why not put life on ALL planets? I'm fairly certain there is other life out there which is going to be a difficult one for thiests to explain away as that small possible fact has not been mentioned in the bible. With Gay people.
