Thank you Phil for providing this service which is absolutely critical to the functioning of a democracy.

Robert & Rebekah Mercer, the billionaire Canadian hedgefund that gave us Cambridge Analytica, are both backing & advising the Government. Crispin Odey, star of the Bloomberg documentary "the great Brexit short" & Kwarteng's former employer, is a major Tory donor. Sunak owns a hedgefund. Rees-Mogg owns a hedgefund. And these are just the easy-to-find ones, the list carries on & on.

8:03 "Nanny State" is a term first used by the Torys to oppose the NHS & welfare. Your welfare & mine, from Child Allowance to Social Care to tracking food poisonings to State Pensions & everything in between.

@ralphmillais5237 we import 90% of our food for a couple of months every winter, mostly from the EU. Many of our manufactured goods have components sourced from the EU. Up to 20% of our electricity comes from the EU. Loans & bond purchases from the EU are shoring up our economy. Do you genuinely think this will have no effect? Do you think at all?

0:54 many well-known journalists also took PPE at Oxford, intensifying the "Westminster Bubble". There was an article about it many years ago, I think in the Guardian.
29
it's already happening in Southend-on-sea
27
10:00 "raided the public coffers at a time of national emergency" -- which they caused by shutting down the "Track'n'Trace" which we've been perfecting since 1850!
26
@felicityprout9005 please, just one example?
21
@spitfirehunter4117 yes, you are full of it
19
@SteveDorrans it's amazing how many people believe the Press
18
I want to see Johnson & his mates nicked for Misconduct In Public Office & locked away for life for this.
17
the City of London has been a quasi-autonomous country since it wasn't invaded in 1066.
17
had and used
16
@ingridschmid1709 Mr Sunak owns a hedgefund which you can reasonably assume has bet against this eventuality.
16
@jonathanwetherell3609 you have to wonder how much Cambridge Analytica had to do with that? There must be a reason the Leave campaign sunk most of their budget into it...
16
(personnel) I agree, it's not your fault.
15
@sadjaxx Lebedev was investigated & both the Secret Services & the Lords Appointments Committee both said that under no circumstances should Lebedev even be considered.
15
Absolutely #VoteWisely
15
That must be hard :'-(
14
Mr Sunak owns a hedgefund, you can reasonably assume his hedgefund has bet against just this eventuality...
14
This reminds me of the Canute story where his Courtiers built up such a barrage of BS he eventually said something like "look, take my chair down to the beach & I'll show you the limits of my powers"...
14
As I recall there were warnings 5 or 6 years ago the Customs systems wouldn't talk to each other, both from a legal & from a technical standpoint. My memory tells me this was discussed in both national & international respectable Press, titles like The Financial Times & the New York Times.
13
@markb1487 stop trolling, it's not welcome here.
12
@DaveB-hg7el public records are indeed public but... to gain access you have to have reasonable suspicion they exist & then the Government has several legal mechanisms for withholding or censoring them. Relevant law is the Freedom of Information Act
12
@Retired Bore the same Mail that supported Hitler?
12
the difference between giving a purse & giving a money fountain
12
yes but... if the Torys are in charge of the reform how do you think it would go?
11
@ralphmillais5237 you were asked not to bother replying
11
The Lords is the part of Parliament that's functional at the moment! If anything needs to go it's the Commons!
11
You still need to read around, especially if you share his biases.
11
& the Good Law Project acting on it.
11
Why imagine? I'm sure you can tell us...
10
yes there are still shortages but at the moment it's restricted range not restricted volume.
10
Politico also has a piece on this today...
10
unfortunately, even saying that would be political which itself would be unconstitutional 😥 Yet another Supreme Court case coming I think...
10
@steverooke1717 who said the Russians didn't tell BoJo? He's an American of Turkish ancestry, he has no loyalty to Britain.
10
@roseanne9986 because not enough are dying yet, that's what it takes to rouse people in this apathetic/pathetic country. Half a million dead doesn't seem to be enough yet.
10
Phil explains that in the video.
10
"GB News is jointly owned by hedge fund manager Sir Paul Marshall and investment firm Legatum" -- Wikipedia That's why it can't be closed & why Ofcom complaints don't shut it down.
10
also "let the bodies pile high"
10
@wolfgangpreier9160 that's why #LiarJohnson has to go; the disrespect for anyone or anything
10
@tyranitararmaldo or ex 'police' of any type or level.
9
3:46 "getting it in the neck from ... cabinet colleagues"? 55 Tufton Street more like!
9
@peterclarke7240 the plan was for the money to build new Council houses in places where the local Council couldn't afford it but somehow the money was never forthcoming.
9
@grumpy-dad3701 when? Prior to the 4th of May 1896 when the Daily Mail was founded. Quality journalism actually survived right through to the 1980s but the circulation figures have been diminishing & quality is now a niche market. (Look to the Leveson-standard Regulator IMPRESS to find the remaining quality titles).
9
He can still be prosecuted for Misconduct in Public Office, indeed he has been (for lying) although the case was kicked out via skulduggery & corruption (his father drinks with the judge). The penalty is 35 years inside plus a permanent ban on holding Public Office.
9
how?
9
@annewalden3795 he made his money with hedgefunds, there's a good chance most of it was the Brexit vote (Bloomberg did a good video & article on it).
9
@XeNeXX the UK had 4 "Nightingale" hospitals, they took in 35 patients total because staff weren't available. Florence Nightingale would have been livid & all of her Parliament & Press contacts would have been informed in detail exactly why.
9
@daddysaid2285 you need to check your sources, the opposite is true & has been for several decades.
