  36.  @sticky59  That's BS. Electricity imports to the UK from all sources across all interconnects within the last 15 minutes is 3% as is normal (it tends to stay between 2% & 4%, occasionally balancing to export). Maxing out all interconnects (which cannot happen) gives a total of 18%

There is a wet salt device for domestic use but it's over 6 feet tall & looks to weigh a couple of tons so would have to go on a concrete plinth set into the ground floor which definitely won't be happening in social housing.

Private landlords often behave exactly the same because anything that's not on the architect's original drawings risks the property to some extent & if anything goes wrong it can end up in a tedious & expensive Court case. Councils have the added pressure of a fiendishly complicated funding arrangement which gets cut back at every budget.
