Agriculture provided lots of jobs, for both the native people and Arabs. There also was plenty of water, as Aza sits on a deep aquafer. Pity that the Arabs destroyed all the greenhouses, and dug up the pipes bringing water to homes and fields, to build rockets with. I hope, when this is all done, that Gush Katif is restored, to continue producing bounty, and the Jewish people, forced from their homes, can rebuild. Not all can of course, many were killed in the brutal Hamas attack.
