As to the Arab "civilians", occupying Gaza, they are all complicit. Most of those, who committed the atrocities were "civilians". And "civilians abducted innocent hostages and held them, which are war crimes. Punishing war criminals, for the crimes they commit, is justice, not collective punishment.

  40. Chinese CDC says these pneumonia cases are due to Mycoplasma pneumoniae, RSV, adenovirus and influenza. The first, being a bacteria, can be treated with antibiotics. The last two are viruses which children can be vaccinated against. Infants can get passive immunity, with a MAb, against RSV. If the MAb is unavailable, pregnant women can be vaccinated in the last trimester, and the immunity is passed to the fetus, and contained in breastmilk.

  43. In the late 1970s, Hughes Aircraft would only hire computer programmers, who were native born US citizens, because it was a defense contractor. Nobody sued them for that. The same with JPL in the 1980s, and another defense contractor I worked for, in the early 2000s. Why is being careful, in sensitive fields, a problem?

  46. It's somewhat worse in Israel. Judges appoint their replacements, not those the people elect, and they can overturn any law, and prevent any government action, because they feel it is unreasonable. Nepotism is much worse, and if you have the wrong politics, or your family didn't spend the diaspora in Eastern Europe, you can forget about advancing beyond mid-level, no matter how much you merit it.
