Patriarca Let’s see in SOR2 each character has their own individual specials, the ability to do front and back grapples, do double team attacks, drop attacks, rear attacks, different throws depending on if you’re front or back grappling the enemy, throw escapes, etc. What can you do in DD2? Punch, kick, and grab. Oh yea and your two specials that are identical between Jimmy and Billy...and you want to talk about “variety”. No contest man, just stop the bias and the foolishness. Lmao.

Patriarca Whstever you say buddy....whatever you say, lmao. Most people completely disagree with you. Look up any best beat em up list and see where SOR2 ranks compared to DD2, lol. You’re definitely in your own world on that one. Oh and I’ve beaten the shadow master more times than I can count, I don’t have trouble with the game, lmao. I’m just pointing out the obvious, the platforming slows down the game and has no place in the genre. Beat em ups don’t need cumbersome platforming, they are BEAT EM UPs, and it doesn’t add “variety” I’ll leave you with the actual irrefutable facts one more time.
SOR is a faster game with more moves, smoother gameplay, more replayability due to more characters, better controls, more depth, oh and it’s not just move to the right and press punch. There are plenty of enemies that actually block and you have to use your brain against. (Like R Bear) the enemies as a whole have more abilities and are more dynamic in SOR2 than in DD2, just like the the main cast compared to Billy and Jimmy. Not to mention there’s more variety in enemies period.

Yea you tell me which one has more depth in combat. Lmao. You’re so damn biased man. You live in a fantasy world. 😂. But yea whatever man. Lol

NJHS92 Dead or Alive is a button masher man, and so is soul calibur to a degree. those games are nowhere near as good as street fighter, in my opinion...but anyway, thats another topic. I was just saying you must have never played any other 2D fighters, because they have the same blocking mechanic as street fighter. I know those games you mentioned have block buttons, but they are 3d fighters, so thats understandable, it works better for a game like that. But not so much for a 2d one. Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Marvel vs Capcom series, guilty gear, those kinds of games are what im talking about man.

***** Lol....man everything you just said only proves my point, which is that MK is more for kids and geared toward casual fans. Sf is far and away superior and always has been, the games are deeper, more rewarding, more refined, and more satisfying. Its for the serious more hardcore fighting fan. In a FIGHTING game, the FIGHTING is what matters most. Not how many costumes or modes or story. Those are added bonuses, but the gameplay is the main thing you go by when judging a game, especially a fighting game. Its what keeps people coming back, think about it, why do people still play Third Strike, Super Turbo, Alpha 3,CVS2 and all of these other capcom fighting games that are decades old? The gameplay, thats why, not a story mode or costumes, lol. No one still playes the old MK games on a competitive level....gee i wonder why?? In that regard MK has never compared to street fighter, honestly KOF is a lot better franchise than Mk and truly rivals SF, but of course MK gets all the recognition it gets because its got blood and fatalities, ect ect.

wafflcoptr LOL....thats your argument??. No son, you take this L and go to your room, lol. MK isnt nearly as deep as street fighter, especially the early ones like MK2, how can a game be deep when every character has the same walking speed, same animations for all normals with special moves being the only difference between characters, and in single player the computer literally cheats?? Street Fighter does not have shitty controls, as ive just proven to you why, if the contols were so "shitty" then why did everyone else choose to copy them and try to emulate the playstyle?? Why do tons of people still play the old games competitively while the old MK games rot?? You literally have no argument, lmao. Youre sad dude, and in denial. You cant even form an actually argument to the contrary. Go play your stiff, clunky, block button using gimmick fighting game.Leave street fighter to people who know how to play it. The only reason you think street fighters controls suck is probably because you suck ass at it.

Alvaro Alas No youre wrong man, Sf needs none of that, that's not why people like it. Sf 2 had no "flashy finishers" and people loved it. You know why? Because it was fun to play. People like sf games because of how smooth they are, the combo system, the depth, the different types of characters, (charge, grappler, rushdown, shoto, hybrid) where as mk only has 2 types of characters really, rushdown and zoning,it has awkward animations, stiff controls, and a mediocre fighting engine. Oh yea and blood....which is the only reason people even pay attention to it. Other fighter games don't need it to get attention, while mk does.
