  2. KCAssassin98 ....you're still missing it man,lol. Mk STARTED with blood and gore, its what its KNOWN for. It was there from the beginning. Its what drew people to the game in the first place. Everyone was in the arcade trying to figure out how to rip peoples heads off.I don't play COD and never intend to, but it didn't start with blood and gore, its not a selling point for the franchise, its never had it, its not known for ripping peoples hearts out,or that other stuff in the first place so it doesn't matter if they added it now. MK built its fame off of that. And actually in street fighter you have to rely more on footsies and how to read your opponent. Supers aren't that big of a deal really, you definitely won't win a tournament off of throwing out random supers,by no means. If u know how to read and react to your opponent then you're going to win. Its about getting into the other guys mind, knowing what he'll do and trying to stop it. Its more to it than that of course but that's the basics.

  3. Of course theres chains,cancels, focus attacks, links, etc, that all make a big part of the fighting system. Once u understand these things street fighter is a pure joy unlike almost any other. It all works so well together, nothing feels unnecessary or un needed or "gimmicky" Everything just "flows" and the combat is smooth in street fighter, that's what I've always realky liked about it. The fighting "feels" good when u play it.

  4. Ultras and supers alone will get u no where, any beginner or casual can do those, they are easy to see coming and counter. Its when u know the things I mentioned before and how to use them together that u will be able to really compete.

Mk is popular because of its blood and violence, this is a fact and has been a fact from the very beginning. Street fighter is popular because of its gameplay, this is a fact. Mk has always been a lot more stiff and clunky,and the early games were pretty bad gameplay wise (and lazy) compared to the premier fighters of the day from capcom and snk. Street fighter has always been smoother, more fluid, deeper, is a much better game. Well I can tell u where its not loved and that's Asia, all of it, especially Japan, they see it as garbage and a complete joke/mockery of a fighting game. And KOF and Street Fighter are definitely more popular in Brazil, I know this for a fact. People are arguing because they know its biased bs that they chose a "fighting game" like mk over street fighter.

  6. ***** street fighter stands on its gameplay mk stands on its blood,gore,and shock factor. This is a fact and is evident from the get go because the only difference between characters in the early mk games were their specials and fatalities. Everyone of them had the same lame got damn punches, kicks, sweeps,and throws. That's pathetic and only showed that people only cared about the blood and gore to even play such a travesty. Take the blood away and it wouldn't have even been HALF as popular as it was, and the SNES version of Mk 1 proved that. I swear u mk fanboys are blind to what makes a game good,lol.

  9. ***** yea, in all honesty, I actually liked mk 9 for what it was. It was actually pretty good. It had a pretty good story mode as well. And I'll say, they actually have been improving gameplay wise as of late, and MKX looks interesting. To me tho, it just doesn't compare to what street fighter offers, but hey that's my opinion. And street fighter has never really been "goofy" until SF4; the 2,3, and alpha series had a serious tone to them, especially 3,but yea with 4 they definitely turned it up a notch,which I'm not really a fan of but its OK I guess.MK does have SOME "goofyness" to it as well, like the babealities in the older ones and the like,and even some if the fatalities were sort of goofy, but its just more "americanized"(which I guess it should be since it was made in america,lol)

  10. ***** yea, of course it all comes down to opinion, I'm a fighting game junkie so i try to play all the ones I can. So yea, I'll try to play all of the newer ones I'll definitely be getting T7 and SF5, I'll probably get MK X too. I hope they make another KOF. Fighting games are my favorite genre and have been since I was a kid, I'm just glad its made a comeback in the last couple of years, so I'm excited about that. So I say in the end we all win to be honest.

  12. jacky yo No but thats final fantasy. Thats not out of place in that realm. In a game that suppossedly touts itself as boasting "realistic" depictions of martial arts, boxing kanagroos and pandas throw any "realism" out of the window. It ruins any seriousness the game had in my opinion. Im sorry but i dont like that kind of stuff in my fighting games. Not only that, but it just looks stupid as well.

  14. jacky yo Yea well not for me. Its not my thing. I dont want that goofy junk anywhere near my fighting game. I dont hate Tekken, its a good series but its nowhere near Virtua Fighter to me and never will be. Gameplay wise it always felt like a cheap knockoff to me. Virtua Fighter just "feels" better to play.

  20. TheOnly A2z Yeeeaa, id advise you to go look at the scores the Virtua Fighter series has gotten over the years because you obviously know nothing about the series at all, i can tell. VF 4 on the PS2 is considered one of the best fighting games of all time and got much better reviews then Tekken 4.

  25. TheOnly A2z Tekken Tag 2's ratings are just OK. it got a 7.5 from IGN while VF Final Showdown got a 8.5. And they both have 4.0 on metacritic. So no, rating wise Tekken isnt blowing away VF like you try to claim.

VF has consistently gotten great rating , MUCH better than just about every single DBZ game EVER released but yet the DBZ games sell waaay more. Why? because they are more popular.   39. Yea, street fighter is anything but a kiddie game. Street fighter is way to avdanced for kids, mortal kombat has always been garbage thats only really popular (just in the US) because of its blood and gore. It appeals to the kids and the casuals. Street fighter is much more fluid,smooth, and just plain more fun. And no doubt its a better game.

  40. Michael Chunner Pimentel yea back in the day I played both a lot, but I never really took mortal kombat serious, its like a spoof or parody of a fighting game. Street fighter has always been superior. I've been playing it since 92 and have no regrets for all the quarters and time wasted on it,lol.I've played, and continue to play all of them (minus sf1)because they remain fun and the gamplay is timeless. Unlike mortal kombat where the older ones feel dated and stiff. Theres nothing more intense than playing against a worthy opponent in street fighter, you can't get that rush anywhere else.

Ka 7al and of course both franchises have had bad games,yes ex 3 and the movie game were terrible, but the thing is the ex series wasn't even developed by capcom, it was akira, (tho i think ex plus alpha and ex2 were great and highly underrated)same with street fighter the movie,capcom didn't make it, I think it was Incredible Technologies who did. All the bad mortal kombats were created by midway themselves.

Every single main street fighter series is COMPLETELY different, each with their own systems and sub systems...play street fighter 3 like street fighter 2 with ANYONE who knows their ass from their face and then come back here and say they are the same thing man,lol. And yea, I'm thinking that if a game (well franchise)has better GAMEPLAY,controls,music,and is just more fun to play overall, then yes,its a better franchise. Violence and story mode don't make a game,sorry. Mk is about as deep as a cup of water.

And yea, it annoys me just as much when people say SF is "kiddie" compareded to MK because it has "cartoon" graphics and not as much violence,completely ignoring the smooth solid gameplay. I gotta say MKX looks pretty good, I might check it out. I liked MK9 a little bit, they definetly improved the gameplay. I'm just a fighting game fan in general, their aren't too many I won't or haven't played. Looking to try that Tekjen 7 out as well.

  48.  @petti10  DD2 is nowhere NEAR SOR2, stop it man. It's objectively worse. SOR2 has a multiple playable characters, better controls, plays much faster and smoother, has better gameplay mechanics, etc. DD2 feels ancient in comparison. You're clearly letting your nostalgia for DD2 cloud your judgement. YOU'RE in the minority, lol.

  49.  @petti10  Lmao, yea i'm "too young" when i grew up in the 80's/early 90's...yea ok. I owned DD2 for NES and loved it at the time, it's still one of my favorite NES games, but get real man, it falls behind SOR2 in basically every category, it just does. You're out of your mind if think DD2 has "much better mechanics and abilities" than SOR2, man just stop it, you're full of it, lol. Character variety:SOR2, faster smoother gameplay: SOR2, enemy variety: SOR2, amount of special moves/abilities: SOR2, those are actual FACTS man, they can't be disputed. I won't mention the music anymore because that's subjective but MOST people would say that SOR2 has a far better ost than DD2. It's music is legendary and highly acclaimed in the gaming industry, DD2's is not.

  50.  @petti10  Oh and walking to the right and punching is what BEAT EM UPs are about, just because you have to make jumps and do platforming it doesn't mean DD2 has better level design. There's a reason 99% of beat em ups that came out after DD2 don't have you making tricky jumps, the genre isn't about that, and it really has no place in it.
