Just because it's nicknamed "the ice age" doesn't mean the entire planet was covered in snow and ice, there were warm places too.
2
That's a sad one. They existed until recently, but they were hunted to extinction. The last one in existence died in a zoo long, long ago. 😭
2
Toxodon is very underrated in comparison to other South American herbivores like Macrauchenia, Megatherium and Doedicurus. Those three were in Walking with Beasts but Toxodon wasn't, tho Toxodon did appear in Prehistoric Park.
2
Sadly you can't change animal names. Or maybe you can but it's not that simple.
2
@patrickmccurry1563 Yeah, those things would be a major danger to society, especially Hatzegopteryx, a colossal, jacked up predator that ate small sauropods. T. Rex is lucky Hatz didn't live alongside it, and we're lucky, too.
2
3:13 I think this bit confused you. When she says "And the biggest Ornithomimus...", she's talking about Ornithomimus itself and not Ornithomimids in general.
2
The only predator of this creature is the Wario.
2
I like to think that Therizino ate leaves and fruit from branches while Deino waded for aquatic plants and fish, and that way they didn't have to fight for the same food.
2
Such a video would be super long but super entertaining, maybe they could make it funny by roasting the more outlandish and horrific designs, good idea. XD
2
Bumpy!
2
I have not received a single one of these replies in my notifications, and they're turned on. And I've received plenty of notifications from other channels today and yesterday, dafuk?
2
@Nilguiri So, you think I'm weird? Well, yeah, I'm kinda weird, I mean, look at the content of my channel, it's all the definition of weird! XD
2
Lifespans are weird. Rabbits stay fit and exercise constantly their whole life, yet they only live a few years. Meanwhile turtles barely move and they live centuries.
2
@franzforkel7753 Yes. Snowy owls. Those things.... HEDWIIIIIG!!!! 😭😭😭
2
Theropods are typically tiny next to big sauropods, so no. Even the bigger theropods couldn't just snap a giant sauropod's neck because either they couldn't reach the throat or the neck is too thick for them to wrap their mouth around. As for T. Rex itself, the only sauropod that lived in part of its range was Alamosaurus, which was massive so Rex probably ignored it. While some theropods did specialize in sauropod hunting, they took them down through other means like pack hunting or blood loss and didn't just try to snap their thick necks, which would leave them open to being flattened by the herbivore.
2
Bison are cute, sure. But they got nothing on baby ostriches.
2
So it's a Narutoad? 😂😂😂 I know where the door is...
2
All I know is that pinnipeds used to have legs, look at Puijilia. (Was that how you write it?)
2
@Shrekfromthehitmovieshrek Ok maybe butterflies look scary if they get really close to your face and you can see their weird eyes, but how about ladybugs? Nothing scary about those. 🐞
2
Lizards are friends, not food! 🦎
2
Yeah, that was a cool pun...
2
You can't trust or even take Monsters Resurrected seriously. That documentary is loathed for its ridiculously innacurate depiction of Spinosaurus. It's shown as the ultimate predator of all time, lifting a Rugops with its jaws, killing a Carcharodontosaurus with ONE slap, and tearing apart a fricking Sarcosuchus like a piñata. Sarco didn't even live at that time, and for Spino to lift an entire Rugops in its jaws off the ground, the Spino had to be 200 feet long!!!
2
When you're early and got nothing to say...
2
Well it doesn't have an end either. It keeps going.
2
I'd run towards them and step on them and break every bone in their bodies and bite their tail and slam them into the ground and sit on them to break their flimsy necks! Nobody messes with family!!!! Sorry. XD
2
Maybe they got really tired after slaughtering all the other megafauna so they spared the bison. 😂
2
Modern animals stampede, why wouldn't dinosaurs?
2
Elizabeth Frantes If that's an insult it's an incredibly bizarre one.
2
That news is so sad. Troodon is part of many people's childhood, and now those scientists took it away from us. Countless dinosaur books are now outdated, and Dinosaur Train is now complete and utter bullsh*t!
1
It also had to compete with a giant, crocodile-eating turtle. For real.
1
@JD-el9eo Oh. Guess I was lied to! Or they just like overestimating it. Eh.
1
@nicodarsh So what should we call seals, sea lions and walruses? Land or sea creatures?
1
Those are called humans. 😂😂😂
1
So it's true! Penguins used to fly! Hah, I knew it! Well, to be fair, obviously all birds have flying ancestors. I wonder what were the flying ancestors of the ostriches, emus, rheas, cassowaries and kiwis. How they flew and then evolved to run.
1
Gee, thanks! ;)
1
Gigantopithecus, the giant orangutan, is a similar example. I'm not sure if many of its fossils were stolen or not, but many of them became used in the Chinese medicine. We were THIS close to losing this giant primate forever. Good thing many jaws and teeth were saved, and frankly, they're enough to tell us that this animal was related to orangutans so it probably looked like them, and the wear in the teeth suggests it ate like a panda.
1
Yeah, IKR?
1
Next time you should talk about Dilophosaurus cuz it apparently looked NOTHING like we thought it looked like, it was huge and had giant crests.
1
Yeah, it won't be long until Khasia ends up a dubious genus like our fallen childhood friend, Troodon. #RIPTroodon
1
Modern emperor penguins, the largest today, are about the size of a seven-year old. The smallest today is the little blue penguin, which is slightly smaller than a chicken and is as big as an American football.
1
Ok, this topic is confusing but lemme explain. Years ago, they found Alaskan hadrosaur remains and assigned them to Edmontosaurus. Then at some point they reassigned the remains to a new genus called Ugrunaaluk. But then at a later point they reassigned Ugrunaaluk back into the genus Edmontosaurus.
1
Most mammals were tiny and many looked like rats or shrews back then, but there were a few exceptions. Volaticotherium was like a flying squirrel, Fruitafossor was like an anteater (sort of), Castorocauda was like an otter or beaver, and then there's Repenomamus. It was very big and could eat small dinosaurs. It was like a Cretaceous honey badger.
1
I noticed that as soon as I saw the thumbnail and I wrote a similar comment when I entered the vid. XD
1
So I guess Disney's Dinosaur having lemurs wasn't so far-fetched.
1
There was never a horned beaver. Either the animators got them confused with the horned gopher, or they put horns on them just to make them look prehistoric.
1
@Ezullof Yeah, like stoats and cats. They nearly lost the kakapo to those bassturds, and the kiwis aren't fairing much better either.
1
We got vids on how dogs and cats first became our pets, but what about a vid about how we domesticated goats? Apparently they're also among the first animals we've ever tamed, and plus, they're so stinkin' cute.
1
I'm a dog AND cat person. Who am I kidding, I'm an animal person in general, I think they're all cute. Even bats, snakes, crocs, warthogs, hyenas, bugs and spiders.
1
The thumbnail is Mort when he doesn't get to touch King Julien's feet. XD
1
4:06 Hmm, those simians don't have any weapons. Why doesn't the kudu just turn around and charge them? And how do the simians intend on taking down the kudu without weapons? XD
