@WAEVOICE Something he had no legal right to do. He "volunteered" to murder protesters, something he'd openly fantasized about doing for months in advance.
1
Because when that's the only position on her resume, she's not qualified to be VP.
1
Unfortunately.
1
If a Democrat would be elected every time without the electoral college, that proves there's something very wrong with the Republican Party. Why is so impossible for a Republican to appeal to an actual majority of American voters? Why do you think only Democrats would ever be able to get majority support? Republicans certainly used to be able to win the popular vote, so why can't they do it anymore?
1
Rapeublicans most certainly do not run to the left when they're campaigning.
1
Well, he was right.
1
Andrew Garcia That's ludicrous. Why would it only work for small nations?
1
@dmarmaduke99 Everything you said is a lie.
1
No, Derrick, that most certainly was not why the electoral college was instituted. In 1787 when the Constitution was written, less than 20% of all Americans lived in cities. America was over 80% rural. And even today, you don't know anything about the US population if you think 4 or 5 big cities would be able to decide an election. You'd need well more than 100 of the largest cities to come up with 50% of the population. You seem to vastly underestimate just how many cities there are in the US, and how many people there are in the US. The reality is that the electoral college was instituted to limit the power of the voters, and preserve the power of the wealthy aristocracy.
1
@Zebra Better than having the minority rule over the majority.
1
@calichef1962 You define Bernie getting fewer votes than another candidate as "cheating". You seem to think it's impossible for Bernie to lose a fair election, and thus any election he loses must have been because of cheating. And news flash, our parents lied to us when they taught us that cheaters never win. Cheaters win all the damned time, that's why Republicans are in power right now.
1
@Brady Fries It's the conservative Reich that's dying.
1
@Brady Fries Nope.
1
@Brady Fries The "leftists rioting and looting" bullshit.
1
Trigger Troll You're a reality denier.
1
We don't have proportional representation at all.
1
Validating Republican lies would be what's "self-disqualifying".
1
You mean like how Bernie "stuck around" even after he'd already lost, and lobbied the superdelegates to overturn the primary and annoint him as the nominee?
1
What liars like you leave out is when that global cooling will happen. It's going to be in around 30,000 years.
1
@bipolarbear9917 No, lunatic, it is not "highly suspicious" that another candidate is getting more votes than Bernie. Maybe you're new to this whole "democracy" thing, but sometimes the candidate with the best ideas still gets fewer votes.
1
Trump's reasons for supporting Rittenhouse are complete and utter bullshit. How was was Rittenhouse being aggressive? By aiming his rifle at unarmed protesters, that's how. And backing up while still pointing a rifle at people is not the same thing as "running away". The reason people were trying to take the rifle away from is that there's no way to subdue an active shooter while letting him keep his gun.
1
@georgewahogo7568 How do you "keep a safe distance" from a person with a rifle? An AR-15 has an effective range over around 300 yards. It kind of takes a while to get that far away from a shooter, and you can't outrun a bullet. And they had no reason to think he would stop shooting if they fled from him.
1
@jacobw446 No, Jacob, you're still wrong. A republic simply means not a monarchy. There are many republics that are dictatorships. Voting for a representative = representative democracy. For example, Britain is not a republic. It's a monarchy. But British people still vote for their representatives. Same for Canada, Australia, and Japan, to name a few.
1
@jacobw446 The EC subjugates the MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE to minority rule by the small population states. That is tyranny of the minority. That is dictatorship. Also, your math is completely wrong. It would take the 11 largest states, not 4, to produce a majority of the population.
1
@jacobw446 Are you perhaps familiar with the People's Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Iran? Those are republics. And dictatorships. Another example that previously existed was the Soviet Union. A republic is defined by the fact that the head of state is not a hereditary monarch. The definition you're using for republic actually refers to a "representative democracy". You also don't seem to grasp what "direct vote" means. Electing the President via popular vote is not "direct vote", because the President is an elected representative. "Direct vote" would mean that laws are passed by referendum rather than by Congress.
1
@jacobw446 Right now, the bigger states are enslaved by the smaller ones.
1
@jacobw446 You keep using the word "republic" without any clue as to what it actually means.
1
@jacobw446 You've repeatedly made it clear you don't know what a republic is. And the electoral college is not liberty. It's the tyranny of the minority.
1
@jacobw446 None of them recognized the threat of tyranny of the minority. And Hans von Spakovsky, an official at the far-right Heritage Foundation, can go to hell. He was only able to be placed on the Federal Election Commission by a recess appointment, because he was too extreme to be confirmed by the Senate.
1
@jacobw446 You keep asking that irrelevant question. States don't have any choice of leaving the union.
1
Young people are not "immune" to COVID-19, get serious.
1
You're a lunatic.
1
That would be a dictatorship.
1
No, "most people" don't feel like this is self-defense. Only Trump cultists feel that way. Also, the assertion that the people he shot were felons is a lie. Only one of them had a felony conviction. Apparently that guy was convicted of sexual contact with a minor. But he was 18 himself at the time, and apparently the conviction was for having sex with a 16 year old girl. In many states, there's an exception to statutory rape for cases with such small age difference, but in Arizona there isn't. The other guy killed and the guy who was wounded have misdemeanor convictions, not felonies.
1
@WAEVOICE Doesn't change the fact that Rittenhouse was the actual aggressor all three times. They were trying to defend themselves against him.
1
The fact that you're only half-educated at best is precisely why you deny the object reality of anthropogenic global warming.
1
@anomamos9095 The reality is that denial of global warming is the actual religion.
1
@anomamos9095 That's not reality at all. It's just what you wish was true. Man has done more than enough to effect the global climate, no matter how deep you bury your head in the sand. And your silly take on wind farms is deranged nonsense. Seriously, where do you come up with that bullshit about power spikes?
1
IIRC the video is mirror-imaged for some reason.
1
There is no actual political party by that name.
1
You might want to check again. Bernie didn't win Massachusetts, Biden did.
1
@BNA_Est.1988 Yes, she lost badly in her home state. Which is why she dropped out.
1
Y B You lie about being a human being.
1
@jasonanderson7468 "Qanon" as a whole is extremist.
1
Nothing in that fake news article is a fact.
1
Tulsi is a fake progressive.
1
@swordoftruth8890 They still have to pay taxes even if they leave the country, moron.
1
How has she been "supporting" Sanders by running against him? And it's pretty much only Republicans who like Tulsi Gabbard. Which is exactly why she doesn't belong on the ticket.
1
Global warming isn't a problem that can be dealt with by individual actions. It's too big for that.
1
The Green Party in the US isn't a serious political party. It's not in Britain where there's actually a Green Party MP, or Canada where there's 3 Green Party MPs. In the US, the party is irrelevant and only serves to give Jill Stein a platform for her vanity presidential campaigns. Also, the Democratic Party "needs to fall in line with its voters"? You're presuming that a majority of voters are for Bernie as the nominee. He's polling at 30% nationally. If Bernie wins the nomination, he probably won't have a majority of the popular vote. So yes, he absolutely would need to compromise with the rest of the party. The claim that "it's Bernie's party now" is premature.
