@andrewhouse237 I don't think it matters how well you try and clean it once there's buildup, it's hard to get rid of completely. There's always hidey holes for deposits, which this didn't have. I pulled apart my subaru engine not long ago. Bought it with 120,000 kms (80,000 miles) Had done over 60,000kms (or about 40,000 miles) in my hands and burned about a litre every 5,000km (3,000 miles). I always changed the oil at this interval too. You could see where deposits had been cleaned away inside the crank case, but there was still a significant amount of buildup in other spots.
There was a few issues with the compression rings on this engine and the bores it turned out 2 cylinders were not completely round from factory. Currently having it rebored 0.5mm over, because it was out that much.
