  5. Surrendering your land isint solution here. Ukraine has support of entire world, Russia has its own broken military which lost want to fight. Ukraine has allot higher morale and want to take back their land than Russian soldiers to defend it. Its only question of time until Russia will have to pull back to avoid loosing rest of their military.

  7.  @paspa  Then I guess Putin admitting that sanctions will effect Russian economy is irrelevant? If Putin already talks about it then it means that its 100x worse than what he said. He would never admit that sanctions have any effect, just like he denied that few weeks back, but the fact that he started to admit it means that this can no longer be hidden and he needs to save his face when general public will start seeing those effects on their own. Russia is screwed for next few decades, Europe will survive even if this war goes for next few decades.

  36. Issue is that transition like this takes time, allot of time. Generally you will need like 10-20 years to make this full transition, currently we don't have so much time, ether we keep supporting Russia by buying stuff from them or we get into situation where we don't have means to replace current needs with alternatives in time.

  43.  @simonpedge  You are literally repeating numbers provided by Putin... Those are worthless numbers. What we know is that car industry went down by like 95%. At the moment we can get actual reports from independent sources we can talk about Russian economy "growth" but Putin admitting that sanctions might have negative effect on it proves that sanctions have huge negative effect on Russian economy already, otherwise he would be quite in his bunker.

  44.  @paspa  Reality is simple, Russia will suffer allot more than Europe or any other country in the world. What was keeping Russian economy afloat was simple reserves Putin collected over the years, but as that one is running out he started to change tune that now sanctions might have negative impact on Russian economy... It already did... Russian oil basically cost more or close to same price as it is to produce it. Russia lost main gas buyer for good, like, even if war ends most countries will never resume trades with Russia for its gas, that ship sailed and never going back. Russia lost this war even if it manage to take over entire territory of Ukraine.

  46. NATO, USA and EU isint even in Ukraine... If any of them have been then this war would have ended long time ago. Ukraine basically fights with military scraps and still prevents Russian army from moving forwards, just imagine how it would go with NATO actually being directly involved...

  48. Because they are pushing Russia back from their country. War is going on in their country and Russia literally shells cities, what else do you expect? Loosing would be if Russia was actually progressing and Ukraine had no way to win against bigger military, but they are not, so its a win for Ukraine.

Patching takes time and if Russia starts to patching it then it will be clear signal for Ukrainian soldiers to preparate counter offensive near it or simply aim few extra rockets at it when Russia decides to cross it with tanks. Its good enough to prevent quick Russian forces movement until Ukraine takes back their lands on this side of the bridge.
