@tslee8236 Lisbon is where all the jobs and opportunities are.
2
@saratemp790 It does not compare to the real thing.
2
The Canary Islands don't the land mass or expertise for anything else.
2
@JerzyFeliksKlein If so, then how did he get replaced with another leftist?
2
@julesjules5439 But Cuba is still very much a command economy.
2
@alexandrucioarec6554 Like a true leftist.
2
@roybatty6857 Or how many of those people sacrificed children and future for career and lifestyle?
2
@captainpawpawchannel But it was during WW2.
2
@giljimbere6719 <Angola is a capitalist state, where people are allowed to be rich, > Only if you're a foreigner or a government official.
2
Originally, it was supposed to be a temporary measure.
1
What good? And fascists are from the same family tree as communists.
1
But Greece is dealing with the fallout of socialist rule.
1
They were thought out with the people of France in mind. Namely to win votes. Sustainability be damned!
1
France did taxing the rich years ago with Hollande to negative results.
1
The EU was formed precisely because individually the US could easily swallow them up.
1
Just 25 years ago it was a vassal to the USSR.
1
Exactly. Austerity is the inevitable consequence of economic mismanagement.
1
@nevarran <They are usually given to some corporation that starts raking in billions in profit while giving pennies to the country and the people.> Better that than give it to the government that will do the same exact thing. Case in point: Venezuela. At least when they didn't mismanage the oil industry.
1
What's the point of life if all you do is party and BS?
1
Before WW2, income tax didn't exist.
1
@RandomGuy9 Would that be because women are in no position to take a bullet themselves?
1
Badly.
1
But Greece brought it upon itself with its unsustainable low retirement age and bloated benefits that required outside money to fund it because Greece's economy wasn't big enough to support it.
1
That's even less sustainable in the long run even if forced labor is imposed.
1
But the current model is just not sustainable.
1
@lg206 <Tourists have an ethical responsibility to also advocate for locals.> No they don't. Locals need to take the issue up with their own government.
1
@batrachian149 Communist.
1
@seanthe100 Exactly. And also, Canada was never anything more than a stepping stone to get into the US.
1
@matthewbaynham6286 But that is negated by fewer jobs and opportunities and a depressed economy.
1
But in turn men are to be obeyed and honored.
1
<tax billionaires 99% on their pandemic gains> Thanks to government lockdowns on the competition deeming them "non-essential."
1
At the expense of the people and the national treasury.
1
Would that also include atheism?
1
@Vanessa-ii7cc To compensate for the lack of competitive domestic industry.
1
Greece's birth rate been going down well before this.
1
@stationtavern8527 Because they need the US for their own survival.
1
@scottdavis3571 They pay the most taxes in real numbers.
1
@CantHandleThisCanYa But in real hard numbers.
1
Indeed.
1
@Asadullohs Not so much that, but you have to have people (often men with weapons and/or brute physical strength) to uphold and enforce your claims.
1
Why? Those "greedy" investors are the reason any new housing is even built at all.
1
Those people are in the minority, though.
1
The people themselves are part of the problem.
1
@denisgorjunov <Communism and socialism are the future of mankind.> Yeah! Tyranny, economic ruin and civil war. Like every other attempt in the past barring reform. USSR China Vietnam Cambodia India North Korea Mongolia Romania Hungary Bulgaria Poland Czechoslovakia Yugoslavia Albania Germany Cuba Guyana Venezuela Nicaragua Tanzania Ethiopia Somalia Madagascar Benin Ghana Angola Equatorial Guinea Zimbabwe Mozambique Congo-Brazzaville Argentina Greece Jamaica Examples of countries that didn't have to be socialist/communist to get destroyed by such via policy and leadership.
1
Actually there isn't a shortage of for-the-people politicians. The problem is that those are the kinds of politicians who lead countries to unrest and bankruptcy unless major reforms are implemented for their popular but woefully short-sighted policies. See Argentina and Greece for examples.
1
Maybe, but that's for him to decide. Not you.
1
FRELIMO is backed by Russia.
1
Eastern Europe has every valid reason to hate Russia.
1
No. This is the fallout of Greece's living beyond its means for decades under far-left leadership.
1
Theocrats and communists get along very well.
