Don't sign it without security guarantees.

Yes indeed. Both Trump and Vance owe Ukraine an apology.
20
@babblo1389 Same logic, why would Ukraine shoot at their own people running the plant.
18
@babblo1389 Russian troll.
16
Surely you should say "Moldova WAS part of Romania". It clearly isn't at present.
15
@urbansenicar81 A defence organisation. Do you want to hear what you are?
14
@benchoflemons398 Germany isn't doing much of anything - except funding Russia. For every Euro they send to Russia for gas there should be a Euro sent to Ukraine for defence (of Ukraine and ultimately of Europe).
14
@babblo1389 Russian troll still here!

Obviously Azerbaijan wants a good connection to it's exclave. But I do not see that it is up to Armenia to put it right. A route might equally go through Iran or Georgia & Turkey. A route through Armenia is likely to be the quickest and easiest. A route through the Zangezur corridor would likely be the least disruptive trans-Armenia route - although it might potentially cut Armenia from Iran. It would be good politics for Armenia to allow Azerbaijan to construct a route through that corridor, but as it will be on Armenian territory it is not for Azerbaijan to make demands. And if Aremenia wants border controls on the route, that is Armenia's right. It is up to Azerbaijan to make it worth Armenia's while if it does not wish to have controls.

@RuskiVanka I don't think it's a sleeping bear. More likely a dying bear, striking out for a few last times before its self inflicted death.

Germany gives more money to Russia (used to finance its war) than any other European country, while at the same time being well down the list when it comes to supplying Ukraine arms. Sometimes it seems that Germany is on Russia's side of the conflict. Instead of asking how much do we need to protect ourselves, maybe Germany should ask how much will we need to protect ourselves if Ukraine fails. Remember that East Germany is rightfully Russian (in the eyes of a former KGB agent).

But Ukraine is not shelling the nuclear plant. Russia is. If you can't work that out you can't be very bright.

@gigikontra7023 De facto... maybe. Legally, no, definitely not. Over 50% of Canadians may be of English origin and are English speaking. That doesn't make Canada part of England. Maybe Moldova will vote to join Romania one day, for economic and/or security reasons. Until that day...
9
@davidrodriguezcastaner3931 I thought the news reader said the plant supplied power to the Ukrainian grid. But even if you are right, I doubt Ukraine would risk making half the country radioactive.
8
@viaceslavmikhailovich9825 Moscow regime people own huge mansions a superyachts in Europe, mostly bought with money stolenfrom Russian people. So what?
8
@MudThought Ukraine has right to defend itself from offensive russians.
8
Killing is never nice - but it couldn't have happened to more deserving people.
8
@cyberfunk3793 Britain and the US can get equipment to Ukraine faster than Germany. And more useful equipment. And Germany wrings it's hands.
8
@kintani26 Russia does not seem to be staying strong. It is getting weaker and is no longer the second greatest military in the world. Nor is it a superpower any more.
7
@babblo1389 I think you watch too much Russian television. Troll.
6
@johnsmith-yk6yf Russian grain is not sanctioned. Do some research before you spout rubbish.
6
If he's able to keep fighting russia then that's a good result.
6
@advancetotabletop5328 Indeed. Putin showed extreme cowardice - by fleeing to St Petersburg when Wagner were still over 100km from Moscow.
6
@jont2576 the USSR is dead. Wake up man.
5
@MudThought ...to defend itself from Putin.
5
@babblo1389 Bab Blo is bot.
5
@davids5126 Indeed, it can never be justified. But after all of russia's attacks on innocent civilians in Ukraine, it is hard to find sympathy for russia's pain.
5
Nothing Russia does makes much sense.
5
@askdiatom The answer is simple. Russia doesn't mind a nuclear meltdown in a foreign country, whereas Ukraine does mind. Especially during a war where they don't have the resources to contain the meltdown (remember Chernobyl, where the full might of the Soviet Union, in peacetime, was barely able to prevent a total disaster).
5
@Maidaseu No, but I've heard of the Donbas (correct spelling), where russia started a civil war and shelled Ukraine on a regular basis, killing innocent civilians.
5
Yes, and eastern Russia belongs to China and Mongolia, both historically and ethnically. So when Russia gives China and Mongolia back their land - only then I might support your biased opinion.
4
I agree, I hope they never catch him.
4
@alloutofbubblegum7271 Evidence! You've given all the evidence we need to spot a Russian troll.
4
@RuskiVanka You didn't hear it from me back in March, but you're hearing it from me now. The Russian military is no longer able to make significant advances on the battlefield. The Russian airforce is too scared to fly over Ukraine. The Russian navy is hiding behind Crimea (which now seems less safe than it did two days ago). If the west will give Ukraine ATAKMS and modern battle tanks Russia will be swept out of all of Ukraine in a matter of months (Crimea possiblybefore Donbas). Russia has now proved itself to be such a toxic neighbor that it must be defeated - which Ukraine is making a good job of doing considering it has one arm tied behind its back by the west.
4
@boddy212 NATO isn't sending troops to Ukraine so no point in joining up. On the other hand Russia is desperate for troops. Maybe you'd like to abandon your keyboard to join up.
4
@davids5126 "The 9/11 terrorists or Hamas attackers said the same thing as you". I find it unlikely that either group said "Now Russia knows how Ukraine feels getting Attacked unprovoked".
4
@dancotton13 Ukraine does not target civilian targets. The reason Russia attacked Ukraine is that it felt a vassal state was slipping from its control. The "NATO" bogie is a straw man. NATO is no threat to Russia, unless Russia wants to invade neighboring sovereign states (which it does of course).
4
@dancotton13 All those trains carrying tanks weren't civilian. Ukraine attacked at night when there would be almost no civilian traffic. The Kerch bridge was a legitimate military target.
4
GENETIC BEAST I think you'll find it was the Orcs. Using the same logic, why would Ukraine attack a plant run by Ukrainian workers?
4
@URboy10 Maybe you should consider an Independent Analysis, because you current analysis is flawed.
4
@babblo1389 Russian troll.
4
Stan Marsh whatever! What's your point (other than to highlight that you're a Russian troll). Slava Ukraini.
3
Not quite uniformly, Orban took the fascist option.
3
@fagreed3938 There was no Himars weapon used on the POWs. It was a Russian thermobaric weapon. You need to stop watching so much Russian television.
3
@dancotton13 There are very few people living in the Crimean bridge. Not a civilian target but a military one.
3
@daddyandy9591 Yeah but the Russian military has shown complete incompetence around nuclear plants. Look at those soldiers who dug in around Chernobyl. They're probably all dying from radiation exposure by now.
3
Ever heard of Russia trying to blame someone else for their deeds?
3
@vervetech9395 DW has never hidden that fact that Russia produces more grain than Ukraine - Your first lie. Ukrainian exports of grain (pre-war) ARE close. - Ukraine is the 5th largest exporter of wheat, exporting around 60% of what Russia exports; - Ukraine is the 4th largest exporter of maise, exporting 700% more maise that Russia exports; - Ukraine is the worlds 1st largest exporter of sunflower oil, exporting 220% as much as Russia. Your second lie. World prices are based on availability. Shortages cause price increases that many countries can't afford - so the world needs Ukrainian grain as much as it needs Russian grain - Your third lie. Try doing some fact checking before making a fool of yourself.

I have to say I'm not impressed by what Stephen says. He says eventually Ukraine will have to negotiate with Russia. Considering a Russian official, within the last 24 hours, said that a Russian precondition for peace negotiations is for Ukraine to hand over Kherson, Mykoliav and Odesa oblasts, to Russia !!!! Stephen also suggests that Ukraine should not be allowed to join NATO. That's hanging Ukraine out to dry, as there is no other way to guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty (Russia having broken every international agreement it ever signed regarding Ukraine).
3
@nealwhite5602 Neal White, that's not a very Russian name for a Russian troll.
