  6. ***** Follow the constitution.  The federal government is essentially there to deal with foreign affairs.  The federal income tax used to unconstitutional until 1913 for a reason.  Give more power to the states.  The more local government is than the more control the people have over it.  Also, it is much easier to change.  Follow the constitution and we will be fine. We were never a democracy at the federal level. The federal government is supposed to represent us with foreign nations.  We send representations from our states to DC.  The federal government, besides treason and the draft, had essentially no control over individuals citizens. If you want the government to be doing things then do it at the state and local level. Corporations have no power.  All they can do is offer you a job and/or a product.  You don't have to take it.  The government can force you to do things.  You complain about how corporations have power when in reality they have none.  They just buy out politicians who have all the power.  Strip the of their power, give it back to the states and we will be fine.

  13. Stephen Cody, let me ask you? Do you run you car of money? Do you eat money? Do you heat your home with money? Does money teach a college class? No. You run you car on gas (most likely). You eat food, heat your own with electricity or gas, and a professor teaches a college class. People do not value money, they value goods and services. If you increase the velocity of money but do not increase the production of goods and services then you do no grow an economy. What grows the economy is production. That is why the min. wage has never done anything positive for the economy.

  14. Tiny Hands Donald, you actually shot yourself in the foot. Productivity has been rising because of technology, not because people are working harder. You have to realize a few things. 1. Those that invested and work with that technology has seen an increase in their wages, it is called Skilled Biased Technological Change 2. You point at the 70s. What happened around that time? The increase in the payroll tax. That meant that if businesses paid a higher wage they will pay a higher tax. Instead they paid with benefits such as healthcare insurance. Also you had the creation of other federal programs such as the EPA, OSHA, DOE, etc. The federal government also grew during that time. 3. Increase productivity means goods and services are better and cheaper. Look at cars, computers, cell phones, etc. They are all better and cheaper. How much did a CD player cost in the 1980s? Now you can store thousands of songs on an iPod that is much cheaper then a CD player. Your smart phone has more computing power then what put a man on the moon. A brick cell phone cost $4000 in the 1980s if you include inflation. Your smart phone is much cheaper then that and also includes a computer, walkman, pocket calculator and other technology from the 1980s. 4. Just because overall productivity has increased doesn't mean that the lowest skilled workers have become more productive. NFL players are faster and stronger but we still have people in the US who are very slow.

  17. TheUltimateBeing01, what grows the economy is production, not spending. There is always demand for better goods and services. People want better lives. People want better things. That is why companies continue to produce better cars, better phones, different flavors of food and so on. Mars just released a new type of M&M. Why? Because it is new and something better for some. People like better things. In the end, though, you can't consume what you don't produce. More money in the system does not make people and machines work faster. This is not to be rude but you really need to study more economics.

  18. TheUtuber999, cars today are cheaper not only in sticker price but mainly in quality. Cars today get better gas mileage, have more amenities, are safer, and last longer. "Runaway exec pay needs to be reversed, meaning workers get a higher percentage of profits... the way it used to be." Executive pay is not that high. For example, if you were to take the top 6 executives of Walmart and spread their salaries to the 525,000 lowest paid employees of Walmart those workers will earn an extra $147 a year. That's it. A lot of profits of these big companies go to shareholders who want to see a return in their investment. Without shareholders those businesses will be much smaller. Now while that does have some advantage, it can also lead to higher prices and less jobs. I am not saying things are all a great, but you have to be careful in what you think is bad and when put in a different, and most likely proper perspective it really isn't a problem.

  19. Recessions happen, how we recover is key. Economic growth has been low and we are still behind. Many small businesses have to pull out loans to start a business and keep it going. When you make it harder to do that than the economy suffers.

  31. To me, the problems with healthcare in the US stem from the payroll tax. To highlight it I will ask two simple questions 1. Why do so many employers pay with healthcare insurance as opposed to a higher wage? 2. Why does healthcare insurance equal healthcare?

Jordan Muntz I come here to try to spread information and also learn myself.  I don't have time to call people names.  I actually want to learn and be informed.  In all, what I say is my opinion, and while I strongly support it and want others to hear it, I take what others have to say as well.  For example, the other person supports single payer.  I did not say it to them but I will say it to you, I have seen advantages for it and can see it working at the local level. I mentioned how insurance is for critical care and emergencies.  Single payer can work well in cases such as pregnancies and routine checkups.  A colleague from Canada told me single payer works great for basic care such as that. But for specialized care such as a knee surgery, it is terrible. That, to me does hinder economic growth as well.  So it isn't that great.  Not bad, but not great.

On gun laws they are not "common sense" as the data behind them is vague an inconclusive. If the data behind gun laws supported the narrative that the left, and the guy in this video in particular, were saying then all they have to do is show it. But they don't. Instead they say "common sense" because the facts and data does not support their argument.

Feynman Science is about innovations and advancement.  It is about searching for explanations and new findings.  People seem to lack this.  It always annoyed me when Richard Dawkins seemed to replace religion with science.  To me he isn't a scientist which is why he has never done anything in the past 30 years except promote atheism.  Science is theories to give predictions of the physical world and the theory with the strongest supporting evidence we use.  It isn't facts or proofs.  I am no so much disturbed by the fact that this law is being proposed, I am more disturbed that people don't understand science.  Those students should learn evolution but should learn it as a theory.  They don't have to believe it.  I don't believe it, but it is a theory I strongly support and reference a lot.

  43. This video is highly scientifically illiterate. Climate change is happening, it has been for over 4 billion years. The questions surrounding it are 1. how much is man playing a role if at all? 2. is it even bad? No credible scientist is going to make the claim that this guy did in this video. So if you want to argue with someone that is science related you need to first understand science itself. Next, what is this guy's solutions? Let the government do something about it? I don't see that as being scientific at all. Instead I see that as just giving more power to the federal government to oppress us.

Obama was shocked at how hard the job was as he was literally given everything in his life. But when met with resistance he cried and blamed Republicans.
