  5. Mauris, exactly. The AR 15 ban is a Trojan Horse for a gun ban in my opinion. If you ban that gun you set the grounds, legally, to ban other guns. So when another mass shooting happens with a mini Ruger 14 (for all intents and purposes the same gun as the AR 15), or with a hand gun there will be more guns being banned.

  6. The Everyday Liberal Show, saying universal healthcare is "cheaper" is very vague. My one bedroom apartment is cheaper than a three bedroom apartment on the hills in my city, does that make my one bedroom better? No. Cheaper does not always mean better. As for efficient, universal healthcare has longer wait times and lower R&D and thus less progress where progress and innovation is highly desired in healthcare. Healthcare is fighting evolving diseases and diseases we know little about and still trying to find cures for. You do that with R&D. Countries with universal healthcare lack in R&D. As for being more effective, nothing suggest that is true. In terms of outcomes the US is on par with the rest of the world. For example, many point at life expectancy and say the US is low. However, if you remove car accidents and murders from all countries the US is number one in life expectancy. Saying universal healthcare is cheaper, more efficient and more effective is very vague.

  7. The younger generation has always been left on economic issues. It is growing because people are aging later. People are obtaining jobs later, buying homes later, starting families later. When you start doing that, paying taxes, manage a budget, etc. you become capitalist.

  9. As a gun rights supporter I don't support a buy back program, but I do support a trade program for gangs where gang members trade their Uzis and machine guns for sniper rifles. Why? That will eliminate innocent bystanders during a drive by. Gang members can snipe each other out instead.

  11. The law is the law. Franken tried to make Gorsuch look like a bad guy when all he did was apply the law. This is a pure example of the left letting emotions get in the way of facts and logic. You have to also ask why did this guy run out of diesel in the first place? I know many truck drivers and they would have called this guy an idiot. He can drive slow as well, it is not that unsafe. Go to the mountains in Utah or Nevada and you see trucks driving slow all the time with flashing lights.

The big problem with Bernie's policies is that he doesn't even know how to implement them. What will happen is that he will raise taxes, and as productivity and money drops then taxes will go up even more on more people until the only way we can get anything done is by force from the federal government.

If it is really common sense they should be able to explain it in a way that everyone can understand. Why are the laws common sense? In what way will they help? What is the data to support it? It should be easy to break down. For example, if I were to say plants need sunlight to grow and that is common sense. I won't say that though. Instead I can show how plants use sunlight to grow and show middle school science lab results. To me, anyone who says "common sense" does not understand the issue at all.

Bernie is going to preach about how every country does it, and how the US pays so much for healthcare without giving a reason why, and how people are poor and supposedly dying because of lack of healthcare and how it should be a right to all.   36. dffykvn You have the feeling that the right want to remove government which isn't true.  They want to reduce the size of it.  The want to reduce the size of it to the point where we have state rights.  States should be the one setting up infrastructure and other programs.  The federal government is there to deal with foreign affairs and give US citizens the ability to control governments.  That is why they have no problem expanding the military budget or other foreign policies. The idea of state rights is to prevent corrupt government.  So while the left is afraid of corrupt businesses the right is afraid of corrupt government.  Expanding the power of the federal government has led to both corrupt government and business leading to crony capitalism.  So you are right, we need government and infrastructure but we can't allow the federal government to do it.

A couple things.  One, atheist always claim that they are not a religion but then a group of atheists does this.  This is why I consider atheism a religion now.  They hold group meetings and put up billboards doing this. Anyway, I get annoyed when anyone, religious or not pushes their belief down people's throat.  What is the point of this billboard besides stirring the pot.  How pathetic have we become?  We have this, we have debates on whether Santa is white or not.  We have to be careful about saying Merry Christmas.  We are ruining the holidays and just plain decency.

  48. Isaac, what you said is true. Most people are moderates. Also, another flaw with those polls is that they don't separate between academics and industry. Around 30% of CEOs have an engineering degree, do you think they are voting democrat or republican? But as a whole scientists care about science, and those with PhDs only care about their one topic, typically. Thus they are ignorant when it comes to other issues such as the economy. So as a whole what David is saying is pretty much wrong.

  49. David Stewart, ever heard of the saying "those that can't do teach"? How many of those scientists with PhDs are professors that could not get a job in industry because they can't do? Also, as I said, do they necessarily have knowledge in other fields such as economics? People with PhDs usually devote their life to one field making them ignorant in others.
