  8. As a doctorate student is physical chemistry, and someone who has a degree in physics, I feel this whole situation is being overblown. Take the word "science" off of a document is nothing. If anything I love it as it gets government less involved in science where we can progress more in science.

I always liked to work the holidays because so many wanted off that I was able to get hours and more money.  Fact is that this manager is not the brightest person in the world.  That company is there because of the customers.  Those employees, or the ones no the bottom of the totem pole, can make 1000s of pizzas a day and if they don't have customers then they have nothing.  The higher ups felt that it would be profitable to be open on Thanksgiving. Another fact is that Thanksgiving is just another day.  If you really want time off to spend with your family then work another job that allows that.  Employees can't get whatever they want unless they have a skill where they can demand that.  They are easily replaceable.  There were several people that worked Thanksgiving, they just need to get over it.

  14. Truckers lie on their log sheets a lot, this is not really going to change anything. Also, some truck drivers get paid on mileage, not time. This is a way for them to get paid more per hour. As far as accidents are concern, truckers are some of the best drivers on the roads. Other people, who can drive a long as they want, are the problem.

TYT also has more workers. Despite all of that their views are not doing well. Generation Z is pretty conservative. The main point is economically. Cenk is looking at gay marriage when most people don't care, they want a strong economy. People are voting in the opposite direction when it comes to progressive policies economically.

  23. There is a difference. Those people at rallies are protestors who are invading in a private event. Beating them up is not necessarily a bad thing. Bernie, on the other had, has been running around talking about his revolution and ripping on Trump and the republicans. There have been many protests against Trump that has become violent and Bernie has not said a word about them. At that point he is responsible to a point. When you start calling Trump and the republicans bad people and how they are taking away programs that will kill people, and then preach about a revolution, and doing this while there are violent protests going on from people who are anti-Trump, eventually one is going to crack to that extreme.

Cenk's initial argument is flawed.  I have four guns in my apartment and my room right now.  If they weren't here then my "safety" doesn't change at all barring any other circumstances.  The same can be said about a TV, or a knife, or my lava lamp.  My shelve with a candle can break and cause a fire.  An earthquake could cause my shelf with booze to fall and my lava lamp to fall and cause a fire.  I guess we should all live in padded rooms and have no fear. Yes, if you remove guns from an entire city then criminals will flock there.  It isn't so much that, but more of people with money and resources will move to a safer area leaving the criminals behind.

  30. The problem is that TYT, like most of the left, have become so extreme that they refuse to listen to the other side. They rather silence the other side as opposed to having a discussion with them. You see that with Kyle from Secular Talk as his excuses for not debating people is that he feels you legitimize their positions. In reality their positions are legit and they do have strong arguments. Dismissing the other side is what is harming these shows like TYT.

  32. Cenk talks about stats and then goes on to give deceptive data in less than 2 minutes. The productivity vs compensation chart is misleading. To start, productivity went up due to technology. Next, depending on what measure of inflation you use wages have gone up. If you use the PCE or GDP deflator wages have gone up. Also, inflation is hard to measure as it does not take into account quality and thus typically over estimates it. Due to increased productivity goods and services have become cheaper and better which is essentially a wage increase. It is safe to say that this town hall had no one with an opposing viewpoint to counter the crap they said. Way to push to actually educate the viewer there.

  39. MrMalcolm900, I can tell immediately this study is frivolous. Most people exist in many places on the political spectrum. For example, someone may be liberal on abortion but conservative on guns. Also, they use guns as an example. Me owning a gun is not out of fear, it is accepting reality that there are bad people in the world. Just like when I lock my doors at night, I am not scared, just accepting reality. It is a safety net, no different than how liberals want more government for protection as a safety net.

  40. The issue of violence aside, they are illegal immigrants. Sanctuary cities and sanctuary states should not exist. It is the federal government's job to handle immigration just like it is the federal government's responsibilities to deal with foreign affairs. There is a reason why states do not have their own military.

  47. Some facts: Defense spending is around 3% of GDP, healthcare is 1/6 of our GDP. Since 1950 federal government spending went from 14% of GDP to 20% of GDP. Since 1960 defense spending went from 10% of GDP to 3% of GDP. We are spending more on those social programs while cutting defense. We have been for decades. The money is not there.
