His books are still a major part of the canon in that field. Wolf gives a different description of why she didn't finish her thesis at Oxford then the one she gives here. I find that contradiction uncomfortable.

You are free to speak, but if that speech is proven false and malicious, be prepared for legal consequences. "Free Speech" means without prior restraint, so I don't see your point. JBP does not appear to be against prior restraint, quite the opposite.

JBP, for me, tells us the stories in the bible are a framework, a set of instructions to hang a good individual life, and organized religion is a larger framework to build a good community around. The Bishop, on the other hand, is an apologist, in the tradition of other Christian apologists, and does not address the faulty framework of the Catholic structure. We can build new structures, and retain the proven values of the first instructions.
