Population density Canada 4 per Km2, USA 36 per Km2, USA almost 10X population. Tennessee is rated 14th in Obesity with higher levels of Tabaco use. Massachusetts, a Northern state of similar size and avg age but higher density, has higher case rates and death compared to Tennessee since last year's winter peak. Tennessee is doing much better with the current variant than other states, death rates less than half of national average. Source: New York Times / CDC

? And how should we treat those who "truly" don't matter, then?
3
@RespectMatters452 Judged by whom?
3
@CemeterySunshine Yes, he was channeling this: "“The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either -- but right through every human heart" - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

Upcoming tour, current variant expected to fall away mid-February, so your late January tour dates may be affected, hum.............................

Thank you. you've added real world experience to this discussion, not just random and fringe opinion. I'm in California, where DEI and ESG bureaucrats and consultants have invaded board rooms in both the public and private spheres.
2
@Ahmed-be5en "introduced"? you mean "reintroduced", don't you? Or are you saying Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle were people of Islam?
2
@saltburner2 I agree, but not with "profound", I'd say Lindsay is more academically rigorous and goes granular with his dig into CRT. Lindsay's book, "Race Marxism" is masterful, but being ignored. Why? Rigor is not always popular.

56:24 Jared Kushner did not personally get $2B from the Saudis, that's false, it was a Saudi investment, they hold principal and expect that back with a profit. Jared's company holds the money in an escrowed account to use for structured investments.
2
@kassy677778 Agreed. The concept/context here is still an echo and reverberation, a continued resonance from the past. Glad there's a punch-out of the context.

Harold Bloom vigorously denied Wolf's description of the "dinner party". Why don't we believe him? Perhaps we should ask other students on how he affected their lives. His books are still a major part of the canon in that field. Wolf gives a different description of why she didn't finish her thesis at Oxford then the one she gives here. I find that contradiction uncomfortable.
2
It did, are you not aware of the cold-war split and the WALL between East and West Germany?
2
@naomijansen9810 Harold Bloom was 55 years old at the time of that "dinner party". She has written and described this event so many times, and in different ways, she now believes it herself. This was not an interview or debate, but a therapy session.

"Top Far", in California sending kids home from school with questionnaire for the parents on their views of gender identity. Can you guess why?

Rome became the maritime and economic power we now call Venice "The origin of Venice dates back to the 5th century AD, when people fleeing from invasions (notably from the Huns and later the Lombards) sought refuge in the marshy islands of the Venetian Lagoon. These islands provided a natural defense against attackers, allowing communities to develop. By the 9th century, Venice had emerged as a prominent trading city, known for its maritime power and as a hub for trade between Europe and the East." - ChatGPT

@jacquedegatineau9037 NT "1st hand", wow. Even the Christian scholars know the stories were never written down until almost 100 years later. Where are Paul's letters today? He never met Jesus.
2
@jacquedegatineau9037 Josephus lived to 60-62, born 37 AD, so he wrote 60-70 years after life of Christ.

The Simpsons antecedent in American television would be William Bendix in "The Life of Riley" 1953-1958". Homer Simpson is a blue collar worker at a Nuclear Plant, Chester A. Riley is a blue collar worker at an Aircraft plant. Both are parodies of dysfunction suburban American family life. The show has even earlier incarnations in radio, then on TV with Jackie Gleason.

UN humanitarian agency OCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) published a report on May 8 with revised data regarding the number of Palestinian casualties in the war. The UN agency in its report reduced the number of women and children believed to have been killed in the war by nearly half.

Marc, at meetings in the early 1990s we were part of debates as to whether the Internet should be a public utility or privatized. Al Gore pushed privatization which led the the "eyeballs" model for monetization. I created some of the first banner "GIF" header ads in 1994/95, not happy with how things went. Even refused a position at your Netscape start-up. Too late now.

@Μαρίαπ-μ8β Islam played a crucial role in preserving and transmitting Greek philosophy, particularly during the medieval period. n the early Islamic Golden Age (8th to 13th centuries), scholars in the Abbasid Caliphate, especially in Baghdad, translated many Greek philosophical texts from Greek into Arabic. Notable figures like Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi, and Ibn Rushd (Averroes) were instrumental in this process.
2
“Lost Years of Jesus” by Nicolas Notovitch in the late 19th century, claims he traveled to India during the period between age 12 and 30 which is a timeframe missing from the New Testament.
2
@Μαρίαπ-μ8β There not "many", which is a gross overstatement. There is no physical evidence of Jesus, no direct writing, even the Dead Sea Scrolls are not contemporary to the time of Jesus. There is no contemporaneous documentation for Jesus.
2
@scottmcloughlin4371 Sure, what a chauvinistic thing to say. I listed the translators, they were Arabs, not Greeks. Both did translations. Are you saying that's not possible? The early church banned much of Greek philosophy, and later Islam did the same. I'm 69 years old, my knowledge and experience predates the internet.

@Chemist1076 "To Be, Or Not To Be, That Is The Question", you have a choice, so can always not comply.

How did King David treat Solomon and his other sons, Adonijah and Absalom?
2
Adolescence has been extended in the first world to the ages of 25-30, and beyond, so it follows we are seeing a greater number caught up in the "Messianic Complex" stage of development, and many who are just stuck there. Where's Piaget when you need him?

UC Irvine professor arrested after protest declared an unlawful assembly wore a Red Scarf. The red scarf is a neckerchief worn by young pioneers of several countries during the socialist (“communist”) era. In the Soviet Union it was known as pionerskiy galstuk (пионерский галстук, i. e. pioneer's neckerchief), in Vietnam as khăn quàng đỏ (red scarf), in China as hóng lǐngjīn (紅領巾/红领巾, red scarf), in Cuba as pañoleta roja (red scarf), and in Hungary as úttörőnyakkendő (pioneer's neckerchief).
2
I disagree, she is not "self-aware", and her comments and description of the past in this conversation contradict what she's written in the past, and even past interviews. Take the time to research as I did, since it was clear from the outset this was less an interview and more a therapy session.
2
Please be more specific.

@twntwrs That's not what the lawsuit was about? It was not to promote prior restraint, but a civil suit about false and malicious speech. You are free to speak, but if that speech is proven false and malicious, be prepared for legal consequences. "Free Speech" means without prior restraint, so I don't see your point. JBP does not appear to be against prior restraint, quite the opposite.
2
@twntwrs I'd add that laws in the USA against false and malicious speech only apply to living individuals. You can say anything about a dead person, but a living person has legal standing and can respond by suing, a good law, one with deep precedent.
2
Time to go A-Woke.
2
Eisenhower made it clear that "The Military Industrial Complex" was necessary, but required oversight.
2
JBP, for me, tells us the stories in the bible are a framework, a set of instructions to hang a good individual life, and organized religion is a larger framework to build a good community around. The Bishop, on the other hand, is an apologist, in the tradition of other Christian apologists, and does not address the faulty framework of the Catholic structure. We can build new structures, and retain the proven values of the first instructions.

Lonnie? Why not Lonnie?

@-justin-4077 "Summer of Love" was over in 1967 before Greg was involved. By 1970 Charles Manson had been captured and was on trial, and the fear of cults was growing, including Christian cults. I remember the White Buses in the early 1970s and being harassed by "The Saved" ones. Now I'm being harassed by both the Woke/Left and the "Save Ones". For some reason the Seal Beach Pier in Orange County, CA is an evangelical hunting ground. I'm been stalked there a number of times by the "Saved".

Pragmatic, objective view of America reflects back GOP would win with Nikki Haley. As a woman of color she can take an authoritative stand on abortion educated women in districts GOP must win will vote for. She can win against either Biden or Harris. She has both domestic executive experiences as a Governor and foreign as UN Ambassador. Not my personal pick, but won that can win.

Los Angeles County and local Planned Parenthood just made public statement that "PREGNANT PEOPLE" will be safe in LA County. The word "woman" was only used later as an afterthought. And I'm told the "woke agenda" is a figment of my imagination?
2
Perhaps the woman in question was being sarcastic, or intentionally oblique?
2
@stephendavids7319 The Poet William Blake was unknown in his time, thought to be crazy, but he was not just "entertainment". This can be said of many pivotal people throughout history.
2
Jew? Why vote to be a Dhimmis, not logical.
2
Chomsky would not differentiate between "left" or "right" when determining which "went too far", he takes his lead from Bakunin who predicted human characteristic of power would just pivot from one prevailing power structure to another. He points to the former Commissar's in the Soviet Union who easily became Oligarchs in Russia. All cut from the same cloth.

Every product Vanguard offers, including ESG investments, must meet rigorous standards and align with time-tested investment philosophy.
2
I beg to differ, Jesus was primarily in the oral tradition of the Pharisees, practiced orally to the people like his cousin John. The Sadducees were more insular, focused on text, not social activism. Jesus was more a threat to the "street cred" of the Pharisees.
2
Jung's "Big Dream of 1913" predates his two-week visit to New Mexico in 1925. The "Red Book" journals describe an earlier time-line, so the intro to this video appears to have "supposition" not based in fact.
2
That means everyone killed Jesus.
2
@garbageFreeFall Good, glad to hear you know "Protocols" a "fabrication" and the WEF agenda is well documented, just as it should be. Do you believe what the WEF has spelled out is their true plan?
