Israel is an apartheid state. If they don't like the description, they should stop doing the apartheid!

Very disappointed in Sharon Graham - if you only concern yourself with only "local issues and trade disputes", don't act surprised when more anti-Union legislation happens. Very short sighted and/or corrupt...
49
So, the new rule is that taking donations from organisations that also support other parties gets you kicked out? Interesting precendent. Bet it's not applied evenly!
40
@bilious-bidenI'd rather they monitored a mutual ceasefire, if they have to be there
39
That wasn't quite as bad as "we can't tax the ultra rich because we don't have the money" - but it was very close!
31
The usual talking heads on the tele have been screaming for protestors to leave ordinary people alone and protest the people who can do something So Greenpeace did, and now they are moaning people did what the talking heads suggested 🙄
30
What's the chances that if this struggles to meet it's goal, "Wan Dooton" is going to donate 100k last minute? 🤔
28
But Angela "funny tinge" Smith is apparently still an acceptable candidate 🤔
19
I keep seeing the shops changing - not because of an "invasion", but because the economy is screwed and people keep going out of business 🙁
18
Yes, well done them! Passon my regards too
18
Starmer might be in trouble, but down the road a bit, Wes Streeting definitely is! I hope Wes goes. Couldn't happen to a more deserving shill for private medical firms!
15
Although given who Labour donors are nowadays, I am happy for their money to be pissed away in the courts!
14
"Spare capacity in the private sector", eh? But there is no spare capacity - private companies don't have entire hospitals set up and sat empty just in case the NHS need them! So you paid to grow new capacity in the private sector, when you could have grown the NHS instead 🙁
14
The rhetoric is really hard to distinguish from Cameron era Tory talking points. It's far from reassuring!
11
@darthvadar441 Conmen are normally very well dressed
10
Remember when ISIS destroyed ancient cultural sites, and they were condemned by institutions and nations across the cultural spectrum? Reckon Netanyahu will be treated the same way?
10
@JH-lf4ql are Starmer wins similar to Brexit wins?
8
@JH-lf4ql an actual connection to the local area?
8
@dylantuten6621 pre-planned logistics would either restock in place, or have a replacement take over Is there a replacement present?
8
Whatever did or didn't happen at the top, we know it was someone lower down the chain of command who got thrown under the bus for it
8
@skasteve6528 I think that's Iran's point - they are asking Netanyahu how confident he is that the USA is happy to write a blank cheque I think Netanyahu would be very silly to assume the USA has bottomless willingness to throw money at saving Netanyahu's pride and career
7
They will do the right wing thing of standing by someone while they remain useful, then dropping them like a hot turd Hot turd moment coming soon
7
To be fair to Bailey, we need tax policy changes to deal with inflation The BoE can't set tax, so they have to mash the interest rate button or they get accused of not acting The blame here is on the Treasury more than the BoE (Bailey is still collosally out of touch though!)
6
Yep, I am voting LibDem. No more or less exciting than Labour policy wise, except that the LibDems will push for electoral reform in a hung parliament They also have a decent chance of taking the seat here in North London
6
@jake751 can't say you're wrong, but like MrDesmond said, they want PR too. I'll take PR Tories over the Red/Blue Tory Tag Team!
6
Sorry Shaun Bailey, this can't be over until you can convince us that you aren't doing this elsewhere. Where else is there one rule for us and no rules for you? Struggling to find a compelling way to convince us? Not surprising, because we don't trust you
6
@jungbolosse3034 if they have genuinely and completely divested from Iz, then they've done the right thing, and that should be acknowledged
6
@tonyfraser1749 so we need an alternative to Tories of both Blue and Red colour then
6
If you have a third party that isn't the Tories or Labour in with a chance in your area, back anyone but the big two Not everyone is in a position to do so, but hung parliaments are the way to get change. If two or three parties have to work together, it will normalise the idea with the public, and give the smaller parties an opening to demand changes to elections as part of the coalition deal
6
@JH-lf4ql Labour are doing well despite Starmer His personal ratings are quite bad, unlike the broadly positive view the public has of the party as a whole
6
I am resigned to the fact he's the best we'll have in the next election I am already looking ahead to what we can build for the election after!
6
I am confident they listen to their big donors 😉
6
If the tactical vote is smart, we can give the Tories the boot without enabling Starmer as an uncontested PM. Back Greens where they stand a chance, and the LibDems too A hung parliament is the best way to get electoral reform 🙂
6
Well, thought Wes. The minister for health makes people healthy, the minister for justice brings justice, so the secretary for child poverty should...
6
"Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you" I think Starmer has been staring into the depths of the Tory party a bit too much. What do we "win" if our "winner" has become one of them?
6
I take one small consolation from the Lammy situation We've shown that if we make enough noise online, Labour leadship take notice. We should get a gang together to make even bigger noises 😁
5
I assume the point is to get the attention of people who can vote for him (or not 😉)
5
@tomfinney3416 yet Tories won't talk about landlords when they say we need to control inflation Can anyone guess why? 🤔
5
If the will of the people can get the government to call for a ceasefire, then the will of the people can next call for boycotts and sanctions As South Africa shows, that can make a difference if the will is there
5
The only reason to vote Labour is if you've in a tight seat where the alternative is even worse Otherwise, I see no reason to vote red!
5
Which would be fine if it was a purely solo effort, but he's taking the party down with him, and with it the alternative to Tory government 🙁
5
@jamescooke6032 despite the lack of MPs, they still got their policies implemented This is the power of a growing Green vote - even before it gets big enough to win seats, it will shift Labour policy. The more organised and numerous the Green vote gets, the bigger the effect
5
I am waiting for some "genius" to suggest people live in the office, so they can work from "home" in a way that Mogg will approve of 😳
4
@alihenderson5910 I miss the time when words had meanings
4
Phil's research is excellent, but you do have to be aware of his massive tribal blindspot for anyone with a Labour rosette 🙁
4
OpenDemocracy have many stories that are both interesting and depressing, covering Labours new donors
4
We need that alliance. There are differences between the Greens, the Workers and other left independents, and we can't pretend those differences don't exist What we can and should do though, is agree we need to change the system, and we can debate our differences once we have an electoral system and parliament that isn't stacked against us!
4
Is it too much to ask, that the people arguing it's ok for people to go hungry, could lead by example?
4
To add more injury to the insult and injury, their willingness to sacrifice people to save the economy, didn't even save the economy
4
Everyone tells me he's a grown-up. Probably true, but not a very high bar!
