So we enact laws and that enshrine those rights. Now I am not free to murder you. Have you taken away my right to murder? Is that impinging my freedom? You have to ask yourself what matters more; the right to enforce your will on others or the right of others to determine their own will.

US culture is basically built upon a foundation of killing people you don't like. The shift has only changed where that killing occurs and who's doing it.

It's one thing to look at what Israel has done to Palestine and understand how Hamas came to power. It's totally another to use Israel's actions to retroactively justify pogroms, for example.
