Yeah... it couldn't possibly be the human factor of abusive owners... no, that would make sense...
2
As far as dogs care, family is family. Species is irrelevant. Kevin is his family and those kittens are Kevin's children, so they are family to Murphy and he'll care for them no matter what.

If it's true that behaviour can be bred into a creature and used to make them predisposed to violence, then the opposite must also be true. Generations of pitties shown nothing but love and stability will have an effect on future generation's disposition. Even we humans used to be far more prone to violence, but now younger generations in many progressive societies favour peace and civility. And here we have an excellent example of a couple who have cared for 30+ pitties, who've had the dogs around their infant, all without incident. You can point to cases where pitties have attacked and even killed, sure, but do the maths.
1
As well as being prone to various skin ailments, pitties don't deal with the cold very well. Giving them something to keep them warm and potentially protect their skin is a simple solution.
1
If you're gonna go down the road of "what ifs", it's significantly more likely that he was abandoned because he wasn't violent enough for the owner.
1
Be like Keith, people. If you see animals in need, walk towards them and not away. I have no doubt that the vast, overwhelming majority of Dodo watchers are already doing exactly that.
1
@jdm6613 Nasty infection would be my best guess. Some old injury that festered, maybe.
1
If you look in the footage right at the start, when she's being carried away, her jaw is flapping loose. It's been broken. Later, the lady says they believe Opal was hit by a car. So the vets "wire" the jaw shut to help the bone fuse and heal.
1
@lewis18051 Something to watch out for in the comments on these videos are negativity vampires, people who just want to try and give a positive story and horrible ending, to make people feel bad. So they'll say that the family abandoned the animal or mistreated them, they'll say the animal died etc. (that last one is a bit tricky, as sadly many of the animals featured in older Dodo videos have passed on, but you can generally tell the difference between someone relaying sad news and someone just trying to upset people).
1
@suchabadkitty1293 THEY are what's toxic? Look at yourself.
1
@suchabadkitty1293 Yeah, you do. You're just being a coward as well as a hypocrite.
1
There's always gonna be exceptions. Animals that have been particularly abused and mistreated could have various triggers that could result in aggression. Just the same as people. But I have observed that, in general, when animals realise they don't need to compete for food or safety and are treated with love... they have no reason to show aggression to anything.
1
@drewbie4014 Folk myth.
1
apbtthebest4049 You're another one of these sick dog breeding purists, you can go straight to hell. Let me know if you need help.
1
Puppies don't turn in to people like you.
1
@ADOTlied I know you are but what am I, is that your intellectual level?
1
@depARTmentUhaul Thank you, creepy stranger.
1
@rawjan39 Still trying to use your obsession with dogfighting and pedigree breeding to do the heavy lifting for your personality, I see.
1
@rawjan39 That's not what people take issue with when it comes to dog breeders.
1
@rawjan39 Nah, you do it because of your compulsion to try and appear intellectually superior to people and because you fetishise dogfighting.
1
@rawjan39 You're comparing cars to dogs. Because to you, a dog is just another form of property prestige. That's why you fetishise the dogfighting history and refuse to condemn it. And why you don't understand the real reason no-one wants to hear your garbage. We don't care about any of it. We just see beautiful souls that need love and care, rather than to be abused by humans.
1
@rawjan39 Once again, since you don't seem to be getting it; no-one else cares about your obsession with dogfighting history. It's not that they don't get what you're saying, they just know it doesn't matter when we're talking about giving dogs a good life, free from abuse.
1
@rawjan39 You really are broken record, lacking any actual wit or awareness. Saying that I've got the comprehension of a child, while failing to grasp anything being said to you by anyone else. In one breath, you'll insist it's not about dogfighting, and then in your next breath you're bringing up dogfighting AGAIN. The only reason you care about the "mislabeling" is because it undermines the perceived value you put in your "purebreeds". But no-one here cares about that. They just care about pitties being treated with love and care.
1
So glad this pooch was rescued. Still, it seemed like the team at the beginning were making an absolute meal out of trying to get him and failing, only for a lady to walk up and just... slip a leash on him. Am I missing something?
1
@karlhampson6091 You don't know the damage done. All this is just outta your own head. But if you were to follow up on the countless dogs that have had this exact experience, you'd see how wrong you are.
1
@karlhampson6091 So despite all the evidence presented to you, nothing will change your mind? That's the definition of an arrogant moron.
1
@Viscte That's a lie. It's not even a good lie.
1
@keythdanielsen9315 By your logic, anyone who's personally known pit bulls that haven't a mean bone in their body could dismiss anything you say as propaganda. You've got nothing.
1
I mean, the TV is on you. Bird videos, really? XD
1
Dog's just like "Eh eh eh, stop talking and take me to the damned beach already!"
1
@lynnault1814 Tetanus. Terrible affliction.
1
You might be surprised to learn that humans are in fact animals.
1
To me, this serves as perfect proof that the bully breeds are not aggressive by nature. If they were, a dog in the state Iris was at the start of the video would be growling, displaying warning body language and potentially attacking someone if they tried something like picking her up. Instead, she's just scared and sad.
1
Abdul, you legend.
1
So yeah, I think you just adopted a third cat.
1
I see another conspiracy loon...
1
@jkjk19010k Try again, Fauci really isn't a relevant figure outside the US.
1
While I can sadly believe it, I can't understand people coming over to tell you that Karma should be put down because THEY perceive her quality of life as lesser. Would these same people approach parents of a child with cerebral palsy and say the same thing? I'd hope not and I'd hope those people can expand their compassion and understanding to include all animals, not just humans. I believe in euthanasia but only when the subject has requested it. When the subject is running around and loving life, why would it even be on the table?
1
@rickdekard218 You sound like you need one. You're so sensitive that you get upset by what word someone uses to refer to the person they're in a relationship with? That's weak.
1
I've known many three-legged dogs and they're all fine. What happened to cause it IS sad and regrettable but the dogs have adapted and live long, happy lives.
1
@Slawsers Contrary to your experience, some people do in fact say that or some variant on it.
1
@bengayvinson2011 If temperament can be bred in, it can be bred out. That also means it's nothing to do with the breed but with how it's been treated by an oppressive other for successive generations. So... good on you for shutting down your own argument, I suppose.
1
If fosterers keep every animal they help, they wouldn't be able to keep helping more animals.
1
You're thinking about it in human terms, dogs are a bit different.
1
Listening to loons like you, anyone would think all pitties are just eating children all day long. It's kinda sick, makes it seem like you actually enjoy the idea, in the same way that some people like to watch car races just for the crashes. You wanna do some self-reflection, sick-boy.
1
I wonder if Pizza might have benefitted from being introduced to the other cats sooner? To be clear, I'm not a fosterer and I'm certainly not criticising the effort and success of the fosterer in this video. She did an amazing job and I'm impressed by her patience and care. I'm simply wondering if there's something to be taken from this experience that could help other fosterers in similar situations. I'm trying to see things from Pizza's perspective and I wonder if she felt trapped and contained by humans. Seeing how quickly she seemed to calm down when introduced to the other cats, maybe it was that experience that let her really see and understand that this isn't a scary place and this human really does care.
1
Fosterers have to let their charges move on, otherwise they wouldn't be able to continue helping finding homes for these animals.
1
@sebastianriemer1777 Erm... what? They preferred communists? They HATED communists and vice versa. You might wanna tighten up your research, go check out Robert Evans work on studying how they took power and the path that got them there. Then you'll see how the people who actually helped them, wittingly or otherwise, were largely capitalists. Some of whom were trying to use the Nazis to combat communists, because the capitalists preferred Nazis to communists.
1
@bigcaulkhead6140 You should try being more open to other people's thoughts and ideas, because in this case people are making good points and you're just rejecting them with no good reason.
1
@bigcaulkhead6140 No, I don't agree. Your reasoning is based on ignorance and assumptions.
