Rest well, Sweet Girl. I think the fosters made the right call. The interested adopter could well have been lovely, caring and compassionate. But to be given away after 17 years... we don't know why that happened so I don't want to judge the original family but it can't have been good for Betty. So to give her that consistency, that stability, seemed like it was really important.

@Chipwhitley274 You're being very hypocritical here. Elsewhere in these comments you got bent out of shape for something assuming what YOU implied, now you're doing the flipside to someone else. It's clear you're just looking for something to argue about, in order to make yourself feel morally righteous. THAT is unhealthy. Go for a walk, get a better perspective on life.
1
@perunlowtuned You do, but for me it's a harsh and stark reminder that so many animals don't get saved at the last second. This story has a happy ending but it's remarkable because of that. So often, they don't.

@maddogsenglishmen8020 You a breeder?
1
@maddogsenglishmen8020 Cool. Just so you know, everyone else hates you.
1
@PreservationEnthusiast Plot devices? Elaborate.
1
@PreservationEnthusiast By your logic, you can allege any statement that you like, without evidence, and then it's up to everyone else to disprove it. That's the thinking of someone who is, fundamentally, lacking in integrity. Maybe that's why you assume others are the same? You actually initially alleged that some of the stories were faked. You've back-pedalled rather considerably from that, another indicator that you're lacking integrity. Do you realise how sick and insulting that initial allegation was? Telling someone that terrible thing they went through? Yeah, faked. That's just an indicator that you suck at being a decent living being with empathy. I've got more evidence to allege that you're a shitty person than you have to allege that the Dodo fake their stories.
1
You have evidence of this? Or is this just what you reckon?
1
@Hopper33 I would think that the aggression being displayed is driven by terror. Fear leads to anger, after all.
1
Bless you both for all that you do.

Funny how some parts of the US think that banning a breed of dog is a sensible measure due to the risk that those dogs could pose to people. Guns? Nah, guns are fine. No problem making them readily available at all.

Count your many blessings, Jackson. =)

Responsible fosters NEED to let the animals go on to new homes so that they're able to take in new fosters. If you keep holding on to every animal you foster, you'll soon reach a point where you won't be able to help any more animals.
1
@tookitogo Rightfully so? You've just had someone explain the purpose of the clothes to you but you're still choosing to assume it's for whimsical reasons. Why?
1
@tookitogo And then immediately dismisses them to make a blanket statement.
1
@tookitogo Do you not understand what a blanket statement is? You already showed your ignorance of the reasons that people might put these garments on a dog, someone had to explain it to you. So maybe you're not the right person to make that judgement, since you can't tell the difference between this and someone dressing up a chihuahua for a Halloween photo shoot. Take the L and go home.
1
@tookitogo Yes, they are. They're broad statements making a judgement on anyone fitting your predefined criteria, without knowledge of any of the circumstances involved.
1
@tookitogo The fact you're having to try and define my intention definitely gives the impression of someone overly defensive, who's scrabbling to find a point. You insist you've clarified yourself. Your explanation is vague and is rendered meaningless by sticking to your blanket statement. That's all.
1
Are you suggesting there's a link? Otherwise, I don't see what your point is.
1
Don't be projecting. The world is full of people with more sincerity and integrity than you.
1
@Caper1144 Reading a few anecdotal blog posts does mean you know more than dog experts who work with these breeds all their life, it's true...
1
@Caper1144 And it doesn't take a genius to understand the environmental factors or the human interaction that creates that situation.
1
Basing such a racist statement off of... what, anecdotal evidence? That's offensive AND idiotic.
1
@warondogs8199 You sound obsessively deluded.

In fairness, we've got no context in this case. We don't know why he was surrendered and while it could be for a bad reason, it could be for a very good one. For all we know, maybe the first family suffered severe destitution and wanted the best for him? It's still heartbreaking to see him looking so dejected and sad in the shelter, to see him shaking in his pen like that. All we know is that, regardless of the circumstances that led him to be there, it's resulted in him finding a perfect home that will hopefully be his for the rest of his life. So while it is heartbreaking, in a way it's the best thing that could've happened.

@ninvusoogoar6098 Hi kiddo, thanks for the response. Rocket science is complex. Getting homeless people in work and accomodation is relatively simple, it just requires engaging with them.
