@allykhan8594 The anxiety levels of the average person in Singapore is irrelevant. I notice you haven't got an actual counter-point.
2
@allykhan8594 Tired old lie that got debunked years ago.
2
@UNIVERSAL-UR Oh, you mean that thing that there's no evidence for?
2
@earlysda Because lower taxes means less tax revenue. Means less funding for essential public services. Health and social care, roads and public transit, emergency services... these things all get cut. The only motivation for these tax cuts is to enrich the already very wealthy. Because the current government incumbents will get kickbacks when they leave office.

@live_monkey2485 I learned it years ago while discussing philosophy. If you can demonstrate how I've labelled "everything" as a strawman then do so. Otherwise, you're funnily enough employing ANOTHER strawman argument in that you're trying to define the terms of someone else's argument. The reason it comes up so much is that uninformed, reactionary individuals who can't actually argue the points being made have to make up their opponents argument in order to feel like they're right. This also qualifies as irony. Well done.
2
@Bungle-UK Name the scientist and their claim, let's see if that holds up. Remember, John Kerry isn't a climate scientist.
2
@jasongrundy1717 Okay. I'm not familiar with any hockey stick scam. Give the person's name and we can examine their claim to see if it was bogus.
2
@shit__gamer You don't have to announce yourself like that, but thanks for the heads-up.
2
What's "so stupid" is you going off on defending Trump without actually educating yourself on WHY he's ended up in court over this.
2
@noelsalisbury7448 Nah, those two were just obvious. I don't disagree that the governments of African nations are deeply corrupt, I just don't think we're much better in Europe or the Americas. But yeah, many African countries are deeply fractured with poor infrastructure. Colonialism has a lot to answer for in that regard. And stuff like LiveAid and the annual charities I remember from me childhood, that was all very performative. We've (the Royal We) never tried to help in substantive ways. Humanity needs a mission. Something to bring us together and give better lives to those in need and a sense of purpose to those of us lacking one. I think working together to make every nation on earth a safe and fulfilling place is a worthy mission.

@@FreaksFollowMeDepends. Taking action now won't stop what's coming but it will decide whether you survive or not.
2
@richardallan2767 Right, that's broadly the answer I expected. So I think it's better to say that we've been in a golden age but that age is fast ending and we're actually in a transition period right now. I feel like the others chap's comment of "actually, we're in a golden age right now" is very misleading, intentionally or otherwise, and helps the people in denial.
2
@Kal2000AD What a surprise, you've got no idea what you're talking about.
2
She stoked fear about something that never came to pass, because it was never going to. There was no truth to what she said.
2
@Dontcare-oe9wxPeople marching on Armstice Day = intolerant of civilians being acceptable collateral in war. People opposing marching on Armstice Day = intolerant of people objecting to civilians being acceptable collateral in war. So both sides are intolerant but who is decent?
2
@belkentens I know the facts support me on this. So jog on, joker.
2
@belkentens The... crime stats that get released by the home office. Or you could look to the office of national statistics.
2
Its not murder because the patient has to choose it.
2
How does your figure support your claim? Switzerland has had legal euthanasia for a long time and hasn't had significant issues.
2
@nigelkthomas9501 That's not the sentiment of a healthy society.
2
@eget4144 Strip-searching someone with no valid reason is the issue here. And it's happening disproportionately to women.
2
Mental decay doesn't mean what you think it means. Are you sure you know what you're talking about?
2
@i_C-Sense Research what? Switzerland has had legal euthanasia for a long time, its absolutely fine and hasn't lead to all these nightmare scenarios that, like you, people are fearmongering about.
2
@i_C-Sense Everything you just said is nonsense, rounded off with an ad hominem.
2
@i_C-Sense Do you know what ad hominem means? And you claim you're rarely wrong? You don't even understand the words you're using.
2
@i_C-Sense Apologise for what? You're effectively just stuffing your fingers in your ears at this point.
2
@i_C-Sense Appeal to popularity is another logical fallacy, you wanna try an appeal to authority and go for the triple? And no, you made a claim. You provided only speculative opinion as reason which doesn't give your claim any substance. When I gave the softest of pushback by pointing out a country that has this law and hasn't seen the outcomes you claimed, you just dismissed it.
2
@Dagoth Ur Nazis were in no way left wing.
2
Do you mean that people might take their own lives because they're in debt? That already happens so I'm not sure what point you think you're making.
2
Evidence?
2
@machinist_matt Whereas you don't seem to be thinking at all or you'd realise your claim doesn't make any sense.
2
@machinist_matt Go on then, prove it.
2
@machinist_matt You still haven't provided any proof. How can I answer the question if we can't can't establish whether or not your initial claim is true?
2
@machinist_matt Oh please, you're the one unable to provide any proof of your claim, trying to deflect and move the discussion past that and now you're trying to cry out while attacking someone else's integrity. And you have the temerity to suggest I'm the one acting like a politician?
2
@machinist_matt That's a really weak ad hominem, which is a logical fallacy employed by people who've got no argument. You've got nothing to back up your claim and you know this, so now you're trying to back out.
2
Have we? Like where?
2
@kyledespain3390 Do you think being anti-Trump is the same as being anti-American?
2
Why, because police have such a good track record of treating rape accusations seriously? And give it up with this whole "I'm not a fan but" rubbish.
2
@Alnivol666 No, they're not. There's been quite a bit of fuss in recent years over the police's failings to deal with rape reports seriously, and that's when it wasn't even a copper who committed the crime. Not sure how you missed that. But sure, you cry on about "countless" lives ruined from false accusations, while ignoring the staggering level of sexual assaults that actually take place.
2
And if Israel keep attacking Palestine, they'll never defeat Hamas. So now what?
2
@pinchermartyn3959 No. As was clear from their comment, they'd rather have them debate/vote on a ceasefire.
2
Why did the IDF shoot them?
2
Why are you so angered by people wanting cleaner waterways?
2
@skinz138 Any excuse to avoid answering a question, huh?
2
You're not familiar with evacuation protocols then. If everyone tries to evacuate immediately, the roads get gridlocked.
2
The fact you believe that says a lot...
2
@@zockblattshickleblender7758Nope, massive cuts by our governance.
2
@winstoningram99 And who's WiFi are they using when they're at home?
2
@winstoningram99 Why wouldn't they?
2
@winstoningram99 Yeah but whoever pays the bill will be notified if a new device is using the WiFi.
