@zoeward78 No, it shouldn't. That's the problem.
6
@left_blank How is that kind of economy in any way sustainable?
6
@alk3078 I'm happy paying into a national health service, I just want it to be managed better.
6
@alk3078 No, that's me saying I'm happy paying my part to help support this country's essential services but expressing dissatisfaction with the management. The system isn't the problem, it's the people we're letting run it. Also, to your previous example, it works both ways. I don't mind "paying my neighbour's medical bills" because they pay mine.
6
@Rinkydinkfretboard That loss wouldn't have anything to do with a mass propaganda campaign launched by right-wing press on behalf of Johnson, would it? Because if that WERE the case, then that would actually indicate that the Cons saw Corbyn as a significant threat...
6
@colinstewart1432 I know you're going on about Blair, even after 12 years of Tories demonstrating just how much worse things could get. That's the only thing I know about you, granted, but so far it seems I know one more thing about you than you know about me.
6
People kept voting for serving and greedy sociopaths.
6
It's not great. And their boss is meant to be one of the world's richest people. So what, he gets to make himself a fortune off the hard work and sweat of these workers while paying them barely over minimum.
5
@Bunny11344 Yes and if you learned a bit more about him, you'd also know he liked to beat dogs in front of women to impress them. Hitler may have claimed to love animals, but I don't think you can say they loved him. Whereas what I ACTUALLY said, before you tried being a hilarious edgelord, was that anyone who's dog is that happy, who is that full of love for their human, cannot be a bad soul.
5
@Wack373 And Putin has made very clear he won't make any sacrifices in negotiations. So... what does that leave?
5
Inclined to agree. Got a pretty bad problem with a small group of aggressive drug addicts in my neighbourhood. At this point, I know them all by face, some even by name. I've had to deal directly with them several times, including when one attacked me and forced his way into our apartment building (not the flat itself, thankfully) earlier this year. The police don't do a damn thing about them. In the case of the forced entry, I even called the police after fending the man off, to get backup. Didn't even get an answer.
5
@bflsceo5854 The "feds"? In the UK?
5
If you're sick of unprofessional behaviour, why aren't you sick of Trump?
5
@margelatu79 Long debunked, try a different lie.
5
Its very worrying that you feel facts stopped you speaking normally.
5
@songsmith31a You're totally missing the point, Mark. The reality is that we have a situation wherein police corruption is being investigated and judged by corrupt police. Clearly this cannot work.
5
@meme4one If you prefer facts and data, then why don't you use them to disprove the ONS finding that 1 in 5 Brits have a disability? Oh, look at that. In your very next comment to Mr Nosehair, you don't cite facts or data. You simply say what you "believe". Almost like you go with your feelings over facts.
5
@Fcfcfcfcfcfc I care. Its important to know our history so that we can choose a different path.
5
Your reasoning isn't supported by reality. Our governments don't have a good track record for doing the smart thing over the lucrative thing.
5
@iainmillington904 Or they'd just privatise it and we're all screwed. Wouldn't it be better to retain our current healthcare system by paying them a decent, living wage?
5
@Nickle314 Improved healthcare doesn't mean that people in general just stay healthier. People still develop various ailments and injuries that come with age in their 50s, sometimes even earlier. So it's incorrect to simply presume that people in their 60s no longer need healthcare.
5
Coming from you, someone who venerates Trump, that doesn't mean a thing.
5
@You-Got-Served Would these be the same radio waves that have cooked your brain?
5
@meme4one The point of protest is to disrupt. How many ambulances were held up by protestors?
5
And Russia's defence ministry is almost as honest as America's!
5
@iPocketz Erm... no. Not even slightly. All vehicles come with risks but you don't have to worry about water pressure turning you into a greasy smear with cars and trains.
5
@GavinGas No, they're an entitlement. I've made NI contributions my entire adult life.
5
@upshankkumalu9301 How are Labour worse? What evidence are you basing this on? Last time they were in power was over a decade ago and barely any of that era remains. Are they perfect? Hells, no. But we've had 12 years of Tory incompetence and corruption. I've had enough of them and it seems a large majority of the population agrees. So let's see if Labour can do something with this mess.
5
@random6809 I think we've found a copper in fear of getting the sack. XD
5
But you're not a public sector worker.
5
@graemecreegan6749 So they're either a child who can't diagnose a medical condition or they're an adult who is mature enough that they can be entrusted with other people's lives? 16 really is a magical age of wonder...
5
@aclark903 But, as you acknowledged, CEOs are focused on increasing their profits. That means automation, that means outsourcing jobs to cheaper labour markets and it means lobbying governments like ours to relax corporate laws around employment so that they can maximise their profits. That's the reality of what she's done, not this idealist fantasy that all CEOs suddenly grow a conscience and do the right thing.
5
@tjmarx Wage rises don't have to mean inflation. Maybe, just maybe, the people at the heads of these companies making such profits could recognise that they could live comfortably on far, far less than they pay themselves. They could curb their own wage and increase the wages of their employees, the people who make them these profits in the first place, so that they have a workforce who can afford to live.
5
@andrewsmith3613 Doesn't matter. Its your home first and foremost.
5
@BoomBoomTopG No, you're equating those things with establishing someone's worth as a human being. That's why passports aren't racist but denying someone basic human rights because of where they're from is.
5
Big time. It's great that Carrick has finally been brought down but this problem isn't solved until we've rooted out the enablers.
5
@Steve-ho4xb So... MPs?
5
@ritakruger2304 What's that even supposed to mean? Is it intended as a threat?
5
@gridley The history is a bit wonky there. He's known for carrying around a riding crop and often having a german shepherd with him. The riding crop was for beating the dog. He thought it impressed people. Animal rights supporter? That's stretching it. He "liked" animals. He didn't treat them well.
5
How is it biased? Please explain.
5
I can sum them up with just one "C"...
5
@titteryenot4524 Is there a point to you?
5
@thornbird6768 I don't think it's reasonable to say "equally" anymore. That's less a defense of Labour and more a condemnation of just how far the Tories keep falling.
5
@lobbyskids2 How does it cheapen what happened to holocaust victims? How is it more offensive to be critical of language used by the government than it is to be the government using that language in the first place?
5
dani cali Not really, when you think about it. If they get paid when you're sick, why do they want you getting better too quickly? Take a look at the US' healthcare system. It's not to be envied.
5
@omrxblah4572 That doesn't give you a right to violate anyone else's privacy.
5
@omrxblah4572 You're not saying why though. Why do you think you have the right to decide what another person's level of privacy should be?
5
What does "low-skilled work" mean to you? Because I doubt you could do their job. Yet people strongly desire the services enabled and supplied by these "low skilled workers".
5
@colinstewart1432 Keep up Colin.
5
@colinstewart1432 Somehow, I doubt that, since you seem to be stuck in the past.
