What I'm talking about is male role models who embody typically masculine traits while rejecting the selfish, greedy and domineering traits oft associated with masculinity, amongst others.
Traits that are embraced and encouraged by figures like Tate, who frames women as an acquisition, or Peterson, who frames them as a chaotic force that needs to be bound by social hierarchy (read: patriarchy), are negative influences on men in society.
I'm not saying "be like Reeves so women will want you", I'm saying "be like Reeves so that you're a positive member of your community". Because he's a thoughtful, respectful and compassionate man. Who also happens to be one of the greatest badasses of our generation.
He proves that you can be as stereotypically "manly" as you like with muscles, guns, cars, fighting and all that... without being a total arse like Tate or an insidious control freak like Peterson.
