@jamescooke6032 When did that happen? Certain figures in the Labour Party did repeatedly try to oust him but Labour voting public kept making it clear that THEY supported him, and that's who the party is meant to serve.

@keithparker1346 What are you even trying to say? Brand's a celebrity, so what? And you think this shouldn't be pursued because the lives of people not involved in the case won't improve? Make it make sense.
6
@keithparker1346 But you are a rape apologist, based on any reasonable interpretation of your comments. If you're not gonna explain them, that's what we have to work with.
6
@_xeere You mean you guessed. Did it occur to you to learn the history of the islands, the people who lived there and what happened to them? Have you actually listened to what they want? Or did you go straight to guessing?
6
@Matthewknightg And I'm the Queen of Sheba.
6
@danw5760 But there's not a difference in how people are being treated, that's the point. That's why it's contemporary and that's why it's both sickening and laughable for Tories to say they're against banning things while they try to ban trans people out of existence.
6
@vicicooper4720 If they leave, we take their UK based assets. What then?
6
@pjmlfc05 If it has lost its purpose as a hotel and is no longer operating as a hotel, then its not a hotel anymore.
6
@gothicpagan.666 Okay... if someone is struggling because of cost of living, why do you think MOVING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY AND COMMUTING BACK TO THE UK FOR WORK is a simple, practical solution?
6
@left_blank Mind you don't cut yourself on all that edge.
6
Yup, and we need to be ready to back him and anyone else willing to represent us.
6
@Believe-you-me- You're clutching at straws.
6
@tremarley9648 The incentive is everyone having a place to live.
6
@fredgarvinMP What's excellent about them? She's just throwing out weak attempts at distraction.
6
@graemebarriball303 Nice try. Nah, it's because you're ignoring what's actually being said and what you're choosing to waffle on about is irrelevant. People are talking about affordable rents, not desirable locations. And before attacking my education, do reflect on the fact you chose to go ad hominem instead of receiving my criticism about your content and proving otherwise. Rather backs up my assertion that you've got nothing.
6
I watched for more than two minutes, not hearing any evidence of that chap explaining his ridiculous comment. What are you hearing?
6
@vespasian266 Oh, it was just a joke! A joke punching down on voters by blaming them for the government's own actions, used to deflect from their failings! That kind of joke? Good one.
6
@jimbowers8278 Maybe so but he doesn't seem genuinely interested in policies to benefit the working class.
6
@Solid_Soup "Facts don't matter as much as opinion" is a strange angle to take.
6
@dondoodat Starmer stopped the party supporting strikes. Is that not a rejection of the working class?
6
@samwise1790 Victim blaming too? You've got all the hits. Tell me, if the IDF can't defeat Hamas why do you expect the Palestinian civilians to just turf them out?
6
@karmaascendant3936 Your attempt to boil the choice down to "kill civilians or do nothing" is weak and holds no water.
6
@SmartWatches-xu6ri The word you are looking for is "blend", not "balance". There is nothing to balance between those two concepts, neither conflicts with the other. Never claimed my point was complex, either. Seems painfully obvious to me and many others. It's not some long-studied conclusion I've finally arrived at, it's a simple observation. I've heard Tate talk. I've heard his supporters talk. I've listened to that side. So there's nothing to justify, either. For someone trying to dunk on me for not wanting to listen to opposing views, its highly ironic that you're trying to put so many words in my mouth. Try making less assumptions about what people think and instead listen to what they're actually saying. But thanks for getting so defensive as to evidence my comment about insecurity.
6
@@ironthreads7 Except its a statue of him. Its saying "look at this great person we have elevated". We have numerous monuments and memorials to the collective achievements of British people who fought against fascists. Being willing to overlook his "other dimensions" means you're willfully ignoring the ways in which Churchill was also a fascist. And I think that defeats your entire point. Tear the statues down.
6
@OmarTheGiant You sound ridiculous
5
@clarecrawford9677 Ain't that funny, the party that opposes welfare for the masses also believes in a massive golden handshake for their own despite doing nothing.
5
What do you mean, "so-called"?
5
@samuel5742 Yes, building homes should be a nationalised effort, not something done for profit at the expense of ordinary working people who need somewhere to live. Because they're at the mercy of private companies and private landlords.
5
@michaelstanley3961 I think he means they keep getting proven right about how dumb the electorate are.
5
Yes, they very much are as many Chagossians lived there prior to being forced out.
5
@tomjohnson9833 Reducing the amount of vehicles around IS the solution to creating safe, healthy high population density areas.
5
@sdrawkcabUK They haven't helped themselves, by calling themselves Nat-Cs.
5
@BOOOOOOOONE Can you elaborate?
5
This seems consistent with PolJoe's stance on both sex work in general and the Sun's actions.
5
@danw5760 You called me "despicable" and a "disgusting radical" because I expressed the view that statues dedicated to individuals aren't good for the social psyche. But I'm the drama queen for being sickened by the bigotry with which human beings are being treated? Where's that supposed nuance and proportionality? And no, there isn't a difference. A bunch of people are moralising and trying to push legislation that would make some people's existence illegal. But sure, you keep waffling away without actually saying anything.
5
@RhetoricalMuse Sure, but we're also talking about people notoriously bad at paying tax. I'm just saying, whatever way they try to weasel out of contributing, bottom line is their stuff can be taken. So it's in their interest to play fair.
5
Is still a mug.
5
In what way has he been misunderstood?
5
@pjmlfc05 A hotel is a function. If its not functioning as a hotel, its not a hotel anymore, just a building.
5
It means she heard someone else say it once and thought it sounds good.
5
If they want better role models, they're out there. So many happy, well-adjusted blokes that can be looked to as a lighthouse in the storm. I think what people like your friend needs is better education, to be able to recognise grifters like Tate and Peterson for what they are. Because guys like them, they're seeking out marks. Good role models are busy doing their thing, they ain't gonna look for you, but these two guys just wanna sell you crap.
5
@jacksonsportsnetwork3407 You're completely missing the point which is, even if someone WAS spending that much on coffee, it really wouldn't make a difference to their ability to save a deposit. It's not the price of coffee that's making homes unaffordable.
5
Hear hear. My hometown used to boast several small locally run cafes. Providing jobs, putting wages in the pocket of people who lived in the community and that money would stay circulating largely within the community. Sustainable. But the McDonalds grew, then Burger King and KFC arrived, the coffee shops started turning up, with multiple shops of the same franchise literally within a few minutes walk of each other... the local family bakery AND the pie shop both gone, now we have a dozen Greggs. It's not JUST on these entities, there's a human consumer element at play too. People sacrifice values on the altar of convenience. But it all parallels with our loss of cultural character AND the volume of litter skyrocketed. I do litterpicks in me own time (not so much at this time of year) and the vast majority of litter I find around the town is fast food and coffee shop detritus.
5
@samwise1790 "You can't prove they were targeting civilians, just because they've disproportionately killed civilians"... Do you ever hear yourself?
5
@markwelch3564 gasp The greediest people in our society... were lying!
5
@mludsladiesgentlemen1774 A lot of meaningless waffle coming from you. Poor attempts at dull quips betray the fact that you've got no substance at all. You say we shouldn't judge her as we don't know her... what kind of soft apologist nonsense is that? She's Prime Minister of the country, a role she wanted and fought for. It's not unreasonable for us to expect a minimum level of competence. Which leads us onto your claim that she "has not had any actions that have impacted on anyone". Bit of an odd sentence structure but we'll roll with it... that's a bare-faced lie, unless you've had your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears for the last couple weeks. She's absolutely tanked the economy. It wasn't in great condition anyway, thanks to 12 years of Tory mismanagement, but she took a struggling situation and made it significantly worse, just to throw a boon to her big business buddies. What possible defense have you got for that?
5
@keithcommins It's really hard to tell if you're doing a bit or not. But eitherway, it's really funny.
5
@GG-hu9dn And Hamas have done monstrous things. That's really not the point, when civilians are being bombed out of their homes.
5
@camoTiara If AI was to put us all out of work, we have no income. So who's then buying the goods and luxuries that make the elites wealthy? The AI won't be.
5
@ACR909 How fragile are you, that someone makes a relevant point about British history and you call it disdain for the country?
