  3. The work ethics of the people that work in international versions of US restaurants is superior. Which translates to superior customer service, experience, and food. I have lived in 7 different countries and only the US experience is the subpar one. Just moved to Japan and you can see how the workers at McDonald’s are working as if they were getting paid $100 an hour. 😂

  5. I had never thought of going to Cheesecake Factory. Whenever I go, is because I was already at the mall. Then I regret having gone there because the food is so bad. Then I forget, and repeat the visit a year later.....with the same disappointing results.

  11. Wife and I were both military with 3 kids. Were not living paycheck to paycheck, but also not saving as much as we wanted. We lived in several states and overseas...all the same high childcare expenses. I got out of the military and now we have more savings.

  18. DD and Starbucks served 2 completely different markets. I'm a coffee fanatic....have lived in coffee growing regions and have visited several coffee plantations. I would never go to a DD for coffee. Donuts maybe.

  37.  @petermonaghan3738  Very true. I also lived in Germany and they do have a well balanced of transit. Rail and light rail are common and easy to get to. They DO have a car culture, with no speed limits on many portions of the Autobahn. And they also have a huge bicycle culture. And they also walk a lot. Yes they can coexist.

  43. I don't eat fast food, but this fad made me buy 5 sandwiches from Popeyes and 5 from ChicFilA. My family had 1 of each and all 5 said Popeyes tasted way better than ChicFilA. But a lot of people are loyalists to a brand and will never openly admit to it.

  48. I moved to CA last December. Turned down buying a new $550k house because I'm only here for 1 year. Checked that same house yesterday just for fun.....it was re- sold for $800k. I cried a little. Could've made $250k in 5 months.
