The fact that you quoted the ruble value shoots down all your credibility.

Drones can't win battles yet. You still need the infantry to do their job, and infantry needs their metal boxes.
1
@tellyboy17 But other systems aren't obsolete. Just like infantry wasn't rendered obsolete by the machine gun. No matter what the enemy has, you still need that metal box on wheels or tracks to get you within firing range of the enemy position. That makes them by definition not obsolete, as they still have a role and can't be replaced. Drones are targets too. Thousands are downed per month.
1
@tellyboy17 But drones are targets. They get shot down or brought down with EW. Without the metal boxes, you catch a FPV drone directly to your meat and bones. I'd rather take it on the steel protecting me.
1
@SuperPopopirat The truth of a NATO stronghold in Ukraine? Was Hitler hiding in the dark side of the moon too? How many Boris Johnsons were captured?
1
@vn3353 Artillery advantage doesn't mean anything. Empty fields in Ukraine are cratered like the Moon surface because Russian artillerymen used their "superiority" to blanket entire grid squares no matter their value.
1
It's an idea, but not an ideology.
1
8-9 months would be a "short" war in the grand scheme of things.
1
If your enemy is attriting itself, it's a good idea. It doesn't matter how much you bench if we can all see you getting whooped in the ring.
1
@Pierluigi_Di_Lorenzo How so? I see Russians all the time, Ukrainians are constantly filming them with drones.
1
And that population is only women and elderly because Putin conscripted the men. That population is effectively gone. Russia used them as meat.

Sounds like fanfiction.

Russians 10 months ago: "How is Ukraine winning when they lose all this territory?" Russians now: "It's not about territory."
1
angelabronckhurst6849 the air support was Russian, not Wagner. Wagner used surface to air missiles.
1
If the use of a nuclear weapon now is irrational, and he does it anyway, that means you're inherently dealing with someone who's going to nuke you eventually.
1
Ritter the pedo or MacGregor the Russia Today asset?
1
@dattatrayalimaye2756 "if you hate nazis they'll tell you Ukrainians are nazis. If you hate jews they'll tell you Ukrainians are jews" - Timothy Snyder

@stevenobrien557 do Saudis have to wear suits or do the white robes suffice?
1
Mercouris is a disgraced lawyer who got disbarred over blatant fraud. Why should his voice matter?
1
MacGregor has done interviews for RT, and last year he predicted a defeat of Ukraine in April 2022.
1
@peteriscurious I don't care who he is. He thinks Russia should be allied with the US against China. This is a delusional proposition some people hold onto. He can be as patriotic as he wants - he just keeps embarrassing himself in his attempts to glorify Russia.
1
Chinese artillery shows up on counterbattery radar just like Russian artillery. Return to sender works independently of nationality.
1
@ezekielbrockmann114 Doesn't matter how many shells China produces when artillerymen can't regrow limbs.
1
@paulbaumer8210 NATO production of 155mm can cover needs because naval and air power debilitates the enemy before boots on the ground, requiring less artillery. If you want to mess with NATO, you're going to first be hit with Tomahawks, B-2s, F-35s, etc. and not 155mm.
1
Say what you want about Hideo Kojima, but the man is a visionary. He predicted the modern internet in MGS2 and now the self-sustaining war economy.
1
Great comment. Gen. Schwarzkopf also rejected plans to rush Baghdad and depose Saddam due to concerns with angering the Arab allies for destabilizing the region.
1
The problem is that the cauldron is exhausting Russia. It's a bet to see who can keep his hand in the stove, but Russia is covered in gasoline.
1
What we're doing? The fudge does that even mean?
1
Most of the Russian population lives in Moscow and St. Petersburg. There's labor shortages because delivering food through apps in the cold is preferable to factory work for the urbanites. They won't even work to manufacture shells, they'll somehow want to fight?
1
The defenses are just a way to delay and line up the enemy for ATGMs and artillery. Russian telegrams actually criticized how poorly built the defenses were. They're hard to cross because they are under fire. But the construction was awarded to civilian contractors rather than military engineers.
1
@andrewpease3688 What's the point of solid defenses when they're built on the wrong side of a slope? The Telegram post by Rusich (who are rabid haters of Ukrainians) has detailed explanations of defenses that make no sense. What's the point of a fortified shooting position if you're looking at dirt? The enemy will use the slope as terrain masking and get close enough to shoot at you inside your defenses. You know how in the Normandy landing scenes in videogames and movies the Germans have bunkers with slits facing the beaches so they can shoot? You build those on elevation and facing the beach. Not on low ground and facing a rock wall. It's an extreme example but just trying to make a point. A thick steel door. Okay. That's good anti-theft stuff. Not really what's gonna save people from artillery, FPV drones, etc.
1
@jimmyc974 That didn't happen. Only 21 deaths occurred in 2021, and less than 100 deaths for most of the 2010s. Only 2014 and 2015 had over a thousand deaths, and most were combatants. Most civilian deaths were from landmines or unexploded ordnance.
1
@DCresident123 Azov changed their logos. Ever heard of that? Bot.
1
Russia could leave today if they wanted.
1
Any sales made now are sales that won't be made in a few years. Countries are panic buying, once they get their fill they will just stick with that equipment for decades to come.
1
@RobertFromEarth Okay. Ammunition stocked today will be stored for years. Explosives and propellant can last a long time, and then sent back to be refurbished instead of new stuff being purchased. Growing their military capacity? Buying new tanks to replace old tanks. Buying new jets to replace old jets. If the war didn't happen, maybe they'd wait another 5 years. Now they place the orders now, and won't have to buy in the future. If you go grocery shopping for the whole week today, you won't go this Sunday. So your local grocery store gets your money today, but won't get it next Sunday. Huge profits are made when you purchase today, and then Sunday. But Sunday you won't need groceries because they last a few days.

He did not fall. He jumped head first.
1
Bravo Putin! Destroyer of Russia, doom of the Federation! I wonder if Muscovites will hate him more than Gorbachev.
1
Russia's fight is proportional to what they can muster. Shell the incoming forces? The spotters are KIA/captured/retreat which means no accurate targeting on moving forces. Ammo supplies affected by HIMARS. Counter-battery is giving their artillerymen hell. If you actually look at the roads out of Izium and Lyman, the scenario you are describing is what Ukraine is doing to Russia. You should look it up. Not while you're eating, though.
1
@geofflepper3207 Late 1800s? It was the Ottoman Empire then.
1
@kimwelch4652 What does that have to do with "bombing civilians" as a tactic?
1
The Slovenian T-55s are upgraded with systems that bring it to 1990s standard.

Because to Russia Ukraine isn't a war, it's a conflict like Syria. It happens "over there". Milbloggers are a window to the frontlines that allow the interested to follow current events. Milbloggers are invested in how the army is doing, and they're realizing the Russian armed forces are plagued with issues. And started to talk about it because they saw how bad things were. They're telling the interested demographic that the Russian army can't fight a conventional war and thus the entire state apparatus of the Russian Federation is useless. These "true believers" boost the tacit consent for Putin's rule. If Putin can't even protect Russia from NATO, then why does the public allow him to rob the population blind in exchange for security from external threats?
1
Benefit of playing with home field advantage.
1
Russia failed in the winter.
1
@ramonjr.deluna9584 Remember Afghanistan? Remember the first Chechen War? Remember the Battle of Tsushima? Russia has been beat. Remember Kiev? Russia lost in winter.
1
He also stated that Ukraine would collapse April 2022. He lied.
1
If you read what the Russian milbloggers are posting, it's not a failure. They're already saying it's going to be another Kherson.
1
@ggergger8584 Just like Kherson was Russia forever, then after months of fighting they left in about a week.
