  8. It’s a combination of things, handshakes and hugs aren’t the norm, people don’t wear shoes in the house and even different slippers for the bathroom, hygiene is very good in Japan. People are obedient and responsible and are taught to think about how your actions effect others. And Japanese have been wearing masks for decades.

  9. They don't wear them all the time. They wear them so as not to spread their germs when they have a cold. They stop wearing them when the virus is gone maybe a week. You wouldn't want to spread your cold to the kids.

  23. Greg could have gotten more into it but in Japan, if the light is red and there are no cars to be seen anywhere, most Japanese will wait till it turns green. Even if 1 or 2 people walk, most will wait for the light to turn.

  39. It comes down to employment. If people could have the same job and pay as they do in Tokyo and live in Ehime, most people would do it. That's why a lot of people commute to Tokyo for 1 or 2 hours from Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa. People leave the countryside because there aren't any jobs there.
