USSR had more than 9 divisions of logistics support, advisors, pilots, SAM batteries and so forth on the ground in North Vietnam, Russian pilots in the cockpits of the Migs and actual Russian troops manning the radars and SAMs . USSR was funding almost the entire war effort of the NVA.. go back to school !
