The only real alternative is the Euro, but it has the same issues as the dollar.

They need to change their workforce culture. The men are entitled to high pay without any expectation to produce results. (It is why important jobs are given to foreigners instead of Saudi citizens). On the other hand, women are not given many job opportunities in the job market.

A currency's value depends on supply and demand. A monetary policy effects both. Obviously, printing more money increases supply. However, if people think inflation will eat the value of the currency too quickly, then they will be a lot less demand for that currency. That is why well run governments have a target of only 2-3% inflation. It gives the benefits of the money printing without reducing demand. Latin America doesn't seem to understand this and rather just complain about exchange rates as they print too much money.
7
This makes me think that Korean unification isn't possible even if there was the political will in the North and South. The economic disparity is too great.

@joseagreda9753 Stupid conspiracy. Saudi Arabia is the only country that can decide on the petrodollar.
7
LatinPolitic is probably just "ArgentinaPolitic+ neighbors"

@LordEmperorHyperion *Russia goes in and out of recession based on energy commonalities. Plus, war and sanctions aren't great economic policies. *South Africa can't even keep the power on. *Brazil's economic policy is barely more forward-thinking than Venezuela. Why would China and India risk their monetary well-being on these economic dead weights?
7
There are economic benefits to devaluing ones currency, but I don't think this is equivalent to Abeanomics.
7
He actually lost a lot if weight recently. The speculation it happened when he was hospitalized for covid.
7
It would be crazy to trust your money to Chinese stocks until they make their finances more visible and the government stops interfering.
7
@papabear90 I see more wars like the recent fights in Syria, Libya, and Iraq. Locals doing the fighting, while America and Russia supply airpower, planning, and logistics.
7
Trump
7
It would be interesting to compare those who did the transition to capitalism well like Poland and those like who did it poorly like Russia.

#1 Failure: Nord Stream 2
7
One of the downsides on a multi-party system is allows fringe parties into government. That is how you get neo-communists and neo-fascists parties into European parliaments. (And no, Democrats/Republicans aren't communists/fascists.)
7
Protectionism - where special interests, xenophobia, and economic ignorance meet
7
Slowling down legal trade using the river would cost millions in time and enforcement.
7
@hallelbimpong1901 hardy a negotiation. Trump and Biden gave them everything for nothing. Art of the Deal 🙄
7
Prosperity and hegemony for ethnic Han Chinese even at the expense of everyone else. "Colonialism with Chinese Characteristics"
7
The Soviet Union did a lot of terrible things, but their national anthem is way better than America's.
7
@debrainwasher Sweden also doesn't have a hundreds of kilometers border with countries known for large scale drug production.
7
There is probably a rich politician who owns a ranch and vinyard that uses his connections to get around the rules.
7
@VisibilityFoggy Americans also invested in the island and made the locals feel Americans. In fact, most inhabitants are happy patriots and many wish to serve in the military. Why can't France do the same with their overseas territories?
7
No. You two and Italy are bad influences on one another.
7
They both benefit. Otherwise, both parties wouldn't agree to the transaction. The local industry gets money that they need to buy the equipment and labor necessary to increase productivity. This increased productivity allows the local industry to pay a return on investment to the foreign investors. Win-Win.

J.D. Vance is short for Junior Dictator Vance
7
@TheBurningWarrior Russia isn't Mexico. The number of people that trucks that travel between the US and Mexico compared to the number of people and trucks that travel between Finland and Russia is like comparing swimming pools to inland seas. It is simply too easy for drug cartels to bring drugs over the US border while bringing drugs through Scandinavian ports in very complex and expensive.
7
@zsarimaxim692 According to the Uyghurs who escaped the country. President Pooh has armed border guards to prevent journalists from entering the country. Why have a cover up if there is nothing to hide?
6
Look to Bucha to see what negotiations would bring
6
@Feffdc EU is an organization designed to promote free trade among members. This is a capitalist organization that Poland is a part of.
6
Imperialism? Who are we going to conquer? Moon people?
6
It solves the problem of unstable dictatorships. Democracies with rule of law tend to attract investments that are required to build infrastructure and grow an economy.
6
Fighter jets are one of the most expensive hardware one can buy, and even an upgraded fleet would easily be outclassed by the Russian airforce. The Ukrainians were seeking air defense from America, but the Trump and Biden administration kept making excuses to not deliver the missiles, because they naively thought air/missile defenses would provoke Russia.
6
Russia 👀
6
@Hammerhead547 What rivers are left to dam without huge environmental or trade disruptions?
6
Macron talks like he wants a united Europe, but his policies seem to be more inclined to a Europe subordinate solely to French interests.
6
The US handed over the country to the Iraqi people. They are responsible for the country's success or failure.
6
He is president of the world's most powerful county. He is hard to ignore.
6
Xi will make everyone suffer for laughing at him for looking like Winnie the Pooh.
6
Venezuela can at least claim that their leadership isn't fairly elected.
6
It wasn't just about killing the leader. It was about making sure Afghanistan wasn't used as a base for terrorists to launch attacks against the West. We failed this objective with Biden's unconditional surrender to the Taliban. In addition, without partners on the ground, America now have limited ability to collect intelligence or launch attacks against both AL Qaeda and ISIS-K.
6
@aleksabenovic6046 Tell that to the Muslims inside and outside Russian borders. Putin literally has their schools and hospitals targeted by aircraft.
6
The left will stay home to avoid covid, while Trump supporters think covid his a media hoax. Which group do you think will win?
6
Imagine what happens to St. Louis after the Democrats abolish the police.
6
@tomwyer7319 Russia is slowly sending troops that don't have the capability to take on the Ukrainians in a meaningful way.
6
@zsarimaxim692 It's funny how anyone who doesn't support President Pooh is a terrorist. It frankly says a lot about the Chinese model that so much violence is required to get Tibet, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong to follow directions from Pooh Bear.
5
@johnc1873 Because abducting your own citizens in the middle of the night to torture them in a secret prison is super humane. China is #1 in human rights! 🇨🇳 Free Hong Kong 🇭🇰!
5
Obviously, the bigger concern is rogue nations like Iran, Isreal, and North Korea having nukes than the number Russia, China, and America have. Also, as soon as Iran gets a nuke, every gulf Arab country is going to develop them.
