  1. ABC7: How do you know the bear weighed 400 pounds if they haven't found it? Do bears report their weight after they attack? This is a serious question, because I often find questionable facts reported in the news.

  2. For the Olympics gymnastics floor exercise competition his form was nearly perfect, but he needs to improve just a little on his final dismount. I give him a 9.8. He has time to improve before the L.A. 2028 Olympics.

  3. He's dead. Without being able to interview him, people can speculate, but you aren't going to know a motive. People can become irrational, crazy, decide that murdering people today is what they want to do, or whatever, and if they have a gun, that's a problem.

  4. Question: Who was taking the video and why wasn't he or she helping? It's not rocket science that trucks are heavy and he could use all the help he could get. I'm glad his father is OK, but my suspicion about this incident (whether it is real or that we know the whole story) remains.

  6.  @midicronica1  Agree. Going 70 mph, caused the accident. The car looked far enough down the road when he started to cross. It's almost impossible to judge a speeding car coming at you until it's too late. The blue car driver's fault.

  8.  @daryllect6659  Tell the LAPD. I got a ticket for that. It wasn't at a traffic lighted intersection, but definitely a cop could give you a ticket for it.

  9.  @stevesmith756  As I said, he made an unsafe U-Turn. His siren wasn't on, but even if it was, he can't just make a U-Turn whenever he wants causing two cars to crash into the cop car. As far as lights flashing it's hard to tell, but the cop was still at fault. He made an unsafe U-Turn. The oncoming traffic had no time to react to a cop car that suddenly turned in front of them. I'm done arguing this.

  10. What are the new details? It's the same thing I heard when it first happened. The tram tour doesn't go very fast. All the injuries had to be from the tram tipping over. There's also a tram that brings people up the hill from the Metro station. I think that would have more of a chance of being in an accident since it's on a public street and going up and down a steep hill.

  13. I think actors need to be trained to identify other actors. If it was me, and someone, even if it's the president, said they needed a $5,000 transaction done at a Bitcoin ATM as part of anything, I would have ran the other way. That's screaming a scam. Just yesterday I got a call from someone who was spoofing a phone number at Los Angeles General Medical Center (I've never been treated there) saying they needed insurance information from me to correct their records. A total scam as they're trying to get personal information for who knows what. He also said I'll be arrested for not complying. I hung up. The police, of course, never came to arrest me.

  14. I can't see the red light, but the car going the other way was stopped, so it was more likely red. The bus lanes have a lot of signals to warn drivers. I believe sensors in the road sense the Orange Line buses are coming, so they don't need to stop often at intersections.

  20. Hopefully the gas station has a video. There are advance play options when buying tickets, so it could have been purchased weeks before the drawing. Does your average convenience store gas station keep security videos for weeks, or even months, when there's no reason to save them? After a while the recordings are probably written over with new recordings.

  26. If his son has a severe peanut allergy, maybe he shouldn't be ordering drinks for him at shops like this at all. Mistakes happen, that's why you carry Epi Pens. We've all seen the signs that say this establishment or equipment has or has been used with peanuts. My first job was at a Taco Bell. If you're expecting your food to be prepared by the same exacting standards of a sterile medical laboratory, that's not going to happen.

  27. It shouldn't be too hard to find the guy. They got enough pictures. Someone should recognize him. The police should be on the lookout for a dark Tesla with no plates. Years ago when getting off the 118 at Balboa I noticed a guy in front of me getting out of his car with a bat, and he started smashing the windows of another car on the offramp. He then jumps in his car and gets back on the freeway. They're are a lot of idiots out there.

  28. I think North Carolina is a "right to work" state. An employer can terminate someone for no reason. Unless the employee can prove they violated a federal discrimination law, employees are basically screwed. Lasting 22 years in a fast food place is an incredible feat. Probably only a handful of people do that. That should be rewarded.

  29. The problem is, the kid is deceased, so you can't ask him why he was climbing up on the bridge arches. The bridge is safe if you're on the bridge for what it's for. Whether it's this bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, or any bridge, you can't blame the local governments for someone climbing to the top of the bridge and either falling or jumping off. Pedestrians are not allowed on those sections, and it's trespassing. It's not rocket science to look at those arches and then determine it's not safe to climb on them.

  36. Too many malls. Once there are less shoppers, stores start the close and the death spiral starts. Some malls are doing OK, like the Century City Mall. Others not so well. Eventually the Puente Hills Mall will close or will become something else.

  43. A new fence won't help. They need to electrify an inner fence. 100,000 volts should do. If the trespassers get past that, then there's a moat filled with hungry crocodiles from local zoos. This should pay for itself, as the zoos no longer have to buy crocodile food.
