  5. Fillipinas are not submissive in any Western sense. They are strong DEPENDENT women. They depend on men for support,direction and income. In return giving a home that's a clean refuge from the grubby turmoil of life outside it. To bring trouble or strife to the home shows the world she's a useless wife. Western women have no "face". So they have no face to lose. Returning to the west,years ago,I considered women uncouth animals. Searching for the more domesticated ones didn't produce any different outcomes. Went East again and my late wife was a breath of fresh air. Back in the West amidst the herds of wild beasts again. Keeping a good distance while I'm entertained by their shinnanigans.

When my mother was dying,she just said she was sick,my father washed bedding and clothes. He cooked her food and took care of her AND worked every day. When she died she'd left a note that stated one of his sons wasn't his. By tacit agreement neither my brother,nor I, will pursue a paternity test. We're brothers,he was our father. It's it and that's that.

  24. Never been in a real nightclub. Been in quite a few movie sets years ago in and around Tōkyō. On one there was a strikingly "attractive " blonde. There were several of us gaijin and she hit on them one,by one. Frustrated,she came up to me. I told her that I was too young for her, at which she smiled and agreed.   26. Somewhat amusing to me having seen Thailand through the eyes of my policewoman wife. Half Chinese. Half Thai. Yes,being connected to the upper echelons of Thai business and politics opened doors unavailable to tourists and it's much worse than they are exposed to. NEVER drink tap water. Don't even make coffee with it. Thai coffee is comparable to blue mountain. It's the 5th largest exporter of it. I'm sure durian is expensive in Romania. Probably less available than grapes in Thailand. You will enjoy Japan way more from the point of amenities. Yes,tap water is drinkable. Politeness is a national trait. It is also Buddhist and exudes that inner calm in its people. Don't try to understand them,it takes time,patience and leaving western thought behind. In simplistic ways the language is easy to learn. Tourists have become banned in some places.

  35. Grew up on 1.5 acres. Traded one of them for daily qt of milk. Raised rabbits,chickens ducks and vegetables on the 0.5 acres. Father had Corp job,but we had fresh organic food. The first city I lived in was Tōkyō. Big change. Now live in a small town in a swamp. For those who want to farm or fish it's hard work. For anyone adding a business to it,frustrating. First week of deer or shrimp season no one turns up for work till the freezer is maxed out.

As a comparison a western middle class woman is on the same level as an Asian of negotiable passions. Been a passport bro and never hired a woman for s*^. Have been there not done that. When she reached her late eighties I asked her why she moved to the old folks home in the middle of town. She said it was within crawling distance of the pub and she didn't have to cross the street.   47. I'm an old boomer. Nothing p*sses me off more than "bootstrap boomers". Especially those complaing young people don't want to work hard anymore. I work with a young guy who has his kids and wifes kids to feed works seven days a week. Sometimes only eight hours a day. Learns voraciously and has a good heart.

There is a path through life,as you know,and if you're not distracted will lead you to places you enjoy and people that share parts of the journey with you. For the most part life is a journey alone,not a lonely one. Once you coalesce what you see and understand you'll get a coherent picture of the landscape. When this happens you'll attract people and situations that are positive. The crabs in the bucket won't be able to drag you back in. Besides,you'll be fishing for salmon.
