LARRY MCCONEGHY While I don't deny journalists get things wrong, I find it hard to side with you when your president has been so dishonest himself. So far this year, he said the Obama administration refused to turn over documents in congressional probes (a lie), Democrats supported killing babies after birth (a lie), Harry Reid "got thrown out" (a lie), Beto O'Rourke's El Paso rally had 200 or 300 people in attendance (a lie), El Paso used to be one of the most dangerous cities in the country before a barrier was built (a lie), 95,000 non-citizens were registered to vote in Texas (a lie), Democrats demanded a steel border barrier (a lie), and that Russia invaded Afghanistan because terrorists were going into Russia (a lie). So forgive me for being unwilling to side with one liar over any other.

Is this about the New Zealand shooter? Because if so, he said in his manifesto that Candace Owens "influenced [him] above all." And wait, didn't you just say that people aren't responsible for what their followers do? So which is it? Are people responsible for the actions of others or not? Or are they only not responsible when they agree with you because you're as biased as anyone on cable news? Seriously, I've seen conservatives froth at the mouth about a war on Christmas, calling immigrants "invaders" who need to be stopped by having troops sent to the border, and I've seen Trump literally encourage his supporters to beat up protesters. And you have the gall to claim liberals are the ones stirring up hate and chaos?

@NostraFnDamus I edited my response because if what Styx said is true of one news anchor, then it should be true of anyone else (within reason). As for spreading garbage, oh boy, is Candace Owens guilty. - She thinks black people should move on from slavery, but doesn't shut up about Democrats being responsible for slavery. - She thinks welfare and public education are socialism, but not fire departments, even though they're all taxpayer-funded. - She doesn't understand the difference between climate and weather. - She endorsed white supremacist conspiracy theories like the "Great Replacement." - She claimed to have toured an ICE immigration center and to have taken video of her tour that shows how good the migrant children being held there have it (despite not showing any of the luxuries she said they have in her video). - She believes trans women are men who are part of a secret plan to infiltrate women’s beauty pageants and sports and “slowly take over and dominate everything". Oh, and let's not forget she was also found to have incited the MAGA bomber. So please explain what exactly makes Candace Owens any better than anyone else in cable news.

@NostraFnDamus Are you seriously trying to claim that the shooter was part of some false flag operation orchestrated by the left? The only sources I could find for that claim are Rush Limbaugh (who gave no evidence) and InfoWars (who also gave no evidence). On that note, InfoWars also claimed the New Zealand shooter was a communist, which is the exact same thing Styx told me about the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter. Seriously, you've held me to a higher burden of proof and at least I try to cite credible sources. Is it really too difficult to not make excuses like this? I don't know much about the Pittsburgh shooter or the New Zealand in terms of personality, but I'd suspect if anyone took offense to being called communists, it would be them. And I know what you're going to say: communism is anti-religion, so targeting a church and a synagogue is proof enough. To that I say, do you remember the Overland Park shooting in 2014? The shooter founded the White Patriots Party and the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, so I'm pretty sure he wasn't a communist. Dylann Roof in his closing remarks at the trial for the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church shooting that no one made him do it. "I felt like I had to do it. I still feel like I have to do it." And the 2008 Unitarian Universalist church shooter targeted that church because "of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country," according to police. So forgive me if I find that conspiracy theory hard to believe.

@ps3shakes123 I'm not really surprised. His manifesto was laden with contradictory ideologies he claimed to admire. He claimed to identify as a fascist and even had Nazi-associated symbols painted on his rifle.

@NostraFnDamus That wouldn't make him any less of a douche bag. If I went to England and told people Princess Diana deserved to die, it wouldn't matter whether I actually believed that because I would still be an asshole for saying it. Same thing goes for the New Zealand shooter. Even if what you say is true, he still killed dozens of people.

@NostraFnDamus If you're suggesting that I'm basing what I say about Styx on preconceptions, I actually did have a conversation with him through Twitter DMs in October. But if you're just talking about me making assumptions and being confrontational, I'm sorry. As someone who's seen people in this comments section call for lynch mobs and assume I'm a shill for people I've never heard of, they're admittedly easy online habits to develop.
