If Trump didn't want so much negative press, then maybe he shouldn't have run for president. But since he did, is it so hard to comprehend the idea that maybe - just maybe - calling the press the "enemy of the people" won't make them want to say nice things about you? Because, since you brought up Hitler and the Nazis, here's a quote from the Nazi tabloid Der Stürmer: "Jews are pests and disseminators of diseases. In whatever country they settle and spread themselves out, they produce the same effects as are produced in the human body by germs. ... In former times sane people and sane leaders of the peoples made short shrift of enemies of the people. They had them either expelled or killed." And you wonder why people compare you to Nazis. Now, I'm not saying Trump has to kiss up to the press as hard as you do to him. I'm just saying that even he understands the importance of tone. All he had to do was say "It upsets me that news outlets prioritize ratings over accuracy." That's it. Everyone can agree with that. But calling them "enemy of the people" and threatening to reopen libel laws so he can sue them (even if he's joking, however much of a bullshit excuse that is) is what someone does when he wants the news to hate his fucking guts. You don't expect a kid to have anything nice about the school bully who calls him a fag, do you? And before you tell me "the media's doing that to him," thank you for proving my point.

Nk m You asked for a clip of Trump encouraging violence. If you’re going to make some fucking bullshit excuse as to why it doesn’t count, what won’t you do to keep kissing Trump’s ass? Did you already forget the Trump rally where everyone thought shooting illegal immigrants was funny? I'm not advocating for blindly letting in anyone who crosses the border illegally, but at the very least, we should remember that they're still, you know, people. And I know you'll tell me that Trump didn't make that joke himself. That's true, but what does it say about his views on violence that he didn't immediately say "Don't joke about killing people"? @nkm901 What you're referring to is a quote from Eric Holder, also known as NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. But I digress. I could point to Trump supporting Greg Gianforte for body slamming a reporter (last October), or Trump sharing a video in which he tackles Vince McMahon with the CNN logo blocking his face (summer 2017), or a Trump supporter attacking a cameraman at a rally three months ago, but clearly neither of those would be good enough for you. He could actually go on Fifth Avenue and shot someone and you would still say "He didn't tell his supporters to do anything illegal, so it doesn't count." I don't condone any liberal who physically attacks Trump supporters, but the reverse should also be condemned. Otherwise, Trump supporters can't claim to have the moral high ground.
