  11. Chelsea Valkenburger It is my understanding that, yes, violent crime is a serious issue in the African-American community. However, it is also my understanding that multiple factors are at play, so drawing a conclusion along the lines of “all black men are thugs” or “all police officers are racist” would be misleading at best. The same goes for undocumented immigrants. While there is crime among undocumented immigrants, the solutions to be drawn shouldn’t be limited to either “let everyone in” or “build a wall and let no one in.”

  12. Allen A Funny, I checked the DNC’s platforms on their website and open borders aren’t on there. Trump isn’t making an attempt to state the truth on undocumented immigrants. He’s making them a scapegoat, scaring his base into think undocumented immigrants are the root of all evil in the country. Do some criminals come in? Yes, but turning that into a scare tactic can only work for so long. Remember how conservatives spent eight years screaming about how Obama was going to take everyone’s guns? I asked an online acquaintance (an NRA member, mind you) about that and he said “I checked. I still have my guns.” So forgive me for my skepticism.

Putting David Hogg aside, there’s a quote from Trump in the 90s where he said that if he ever ran for president, he’d run as a Republican because Republican voters are gullible and stupid. If I were you and this was considered “Trump being himself,” I would be kind of insulted. As for his promises, Trump might be in the process of building the wall, but why start a GoFundMe page if he kept insisting that Mexico would pay for it? Bringing David Hogg back in, David Hogg never claimed that he would’ve run in and physically stopped the active shooter. Even if he did, I’d believe him more than the guy who paid a doctor to diagnose him with bone spurs so he could dodge the draft five times. Trump might have ideas, but he surrounds himself with yes men and calls everyone else fake news, so no one is there to tell him when something might be a bad idea.

Or when he lied about Luis Bracamontes being allowed to stay in the country by Democrats when he was actually released by a Republican? Or when he lied about the recent bipartisan opioid bill not having Democrat support? Or when he lied about Saudi Arabia making a $540 billion order? Or when he lied about being the first Republican presidential candidate to win Wisconsin since Eisenhower? Or when he said the cold blast on Thanksgiving disproved global warming because apparently our president* doesn't know the difference between climate and weather? You’re telling me Trump is mostly right? Don’t make me laugh
